After 25 years of brave & brilliant work by hundreds of scientists in my lab to understand then safely reverse aging for the first time, it was moving to witness the first human dose being delivered 🥹 https://t.co/veQsyUEORz

Alberta unveils new funding model linking hospital funds to patient care; the NDP response in this article is surely one of the most stupid statements ever made by any politician. https://t.co/1SeEOhgGMo
🚨 NOW: Sec. Marco Rubio just broke out into full SPANISH MODE, ripping the Communist Cuban regime and sending a message DIRECTLY to the people
DOWN WITH COMMUNISM 🇺🇸🇨🇺
"The reason you are FORCED to survive without electricity is NOT an oil blockade by America...no electricity, fuel or food is because the people who control it have PLUNDERED billions of dollars, but NOTHING has been used to help the people!"
"30 years ago, Raúl Castro founded a company called GAESA. This company is owned by the Armed Forces and operated by them, and has income three times higher than the current budget of his government!"
"Today, while you are suffering, these entrepreneurs have $18 billion in assets and control 70% of Cuba's economy."
"They obtain profits from hotels, constructions, banks, stores, and even the money that their relatives send them from the United States."
"Everything, everything goes through their hands. From those remittances, they retain a percentage, but nothing comes to you from the profits of GAESA."
"Instead of using the money to buy oil, like all other countries in the world, they depended on Hugo Chavez and Maduro's free oil to keep the money. But now that they no longer receive free oil, they buy fuel for their generators and their vehicles, while the people are asked to sacrifice themselves."
"If owning your own business and having the right to vote is possible around Cuba, why is it not possible for you inside Cuba? In the United States, we are ready to open a new chapter in the relationship between our people and our countries!"
"And right now, the only thing that gets in the way of a better future is those who control their country."
The cartoon below reflects today’s reality, yet a study on hospitals https://t.co/lO41NbUwul revealed strong positive association between the ranked quality of a hospital and whether the CEO is a physician or not.
30 years ago this week I was a the Presidential guest speaker at the Philippine Orthopaedic Association in Iloilo. A month later I operated on Cambie’s first patient- an injured RCMP officer. He was off work and faced a 1 year wait at the hospital. He waited 7 days for Cambie.
A newsletter sent by Doctors of BC (then BCMA) some 35 years ago attacking the then NDP government for RATIONED ACCESS DAYS which forced patients to suffer and die while waiting. Sadly, our current medical associations are afraid to criticize and hold government accountable
In Canada, going to the emergency room doesn’t always mean getting care. National health data shows that between 6% and 12% of patients leave the ER without being seen, in some places, that’s close to 1 in 10.
Not because they didn’t need help. But because the wait was too long.
That’s not a small issue. That’s a system under strain.
When patients are walking away from care, it raises a bigger question: Is the system delivering care when people need it most? This shouldn’t happen.

A warning to our NDP government by Dean of Medicine in 1992. Cutting back medical school places will lead to a shortage of doctors. The government ignored his warning and reduced intake. The result: Almost 35 years later our NDP government wonders why there's a doctor shortage!
We need a brand new position in BC — Minister of Health.
Someone responsible for managing the health system and accountable for its performance.
This would be distinguished from the Minister of Health Public Relations, which is what we have now.
