@TonyJuniper Despite agreeing with all the scientific findings & the crucial need to farm more sustainably, the catastrophic impact of road networks on insect decline should be highlighted. Invertebrates are being ‘pinched’ by all human impacts & everyone should take action to restore habitat
@BBCSpringwatch we’re in the 1st year of running a volunteer farmland bird survey group to support a local Farm Cluster around Postling, East Kent. We were all delighted to see a juvenile greater spotted woodpecker in its nest. Pic taken on an iPhone, through binoculars 💙
@JANDTHEF sadly train strikes mean we can’t get up to London tomorrow for the live show. Been listening to you for years & im very upset to be missing it.
Maybe someone would like 3 tickets?
@RonJichardson hope all is well?
There’s a rail strike on Friday & no trains into London. 😔Probably a silly question but will you postpone your live podcast event? Been looking forward to this, a lot…
Today, the @WildlifeTrusts are joining with our friends across other environment NGOs...
...to call on all the @Conservatives leadership hopefuls to end the #AttackOnNature if they become Prime Minister
Here I explain the specifics of what this means in practice...
Three key things EVERYONE needs to know:
1. This is still just merest beginnings of climate breakdown
2. It's irreversible, best we can do is halt it at whatever level it gets to
3. It's caused by the fossil fuel industry, which has been lying and blocking action for decades
@minibeastmayhem @Groundswellaguk@FWAGSouthEast@louis_phipps@RareBreedChris Such a pleasure to meet & listen to @minibeastmayhem. Dung beetles are incredible animals & integral to successful IPM & increasing biodiversity on farms. 👍🦇

@fowltown Dear Jeff, we have had a very excited Sonic fan for 2 years since hearing that Sonic 2 is being released on his birthday. Sully is turning 7 on April 8th & has written you a ‘thank you’ note & invite to his birthday 😊I wonder if you have a mailing address? Huge thanks
@LBC@CamillaTominey HS2 £ could grant aid electric boilers for means tested families. All the time developed countries aren’t feeling the burn/drought/famine they won’t take it seriously. I’m terrified for my children. Gandhi says it may seem insignificant but it is still important you do it.
I’ve worried about the impact of these chemicals for years. Glad (sadly) there is building evidence. Owners are blissfully unaware of how such a tiny amount of liquid can be so catastrophic. Time to target veterinary surgeries & their place in educating owners.
Our new paper on how flea treatments on pets - the neonicotinoid imidacloprid and an even more toxic compound, fipronil - are chronically contaminating every river tested in England. Dog owners should read this.

9 face masks, 140 food wrappers, 64 drinks cans and 31 glass bottles have been found in just a 180-metre stretch of the River Stour in #Ashford 😡
Volunteers also removed 10 bags of rubbish plus 6 traffic cones, 3 scooters, a skateboard, a bike and a shopping trolley...
Great to work with @mod_dio Cinque Ports Training Area on one of our project farms nr Lydden, seeding native prov' wildflower mix into this grassland this week to link with previously seeded fields & chalk downland. Farms doing nature recovery👍
Is there a commercial reason for cutting farm hedges to the quick every year? Or is it just a tidiness fetish thing? Surely cutting them less regularly would yield a cost saving - as well as habitat and berries for wildlife? In which case isn’t there a big win-win on offer here?
