EXCLUSIVE: How the track foreigners in China - We got rare access to demo system developed by the Ministry of Public Security in China for the prefecture of Zhangjiakou, to track and surveil foreigners visiting or being residents ( actually it applies to most nationals as well, but in this case it seems to be aimed at foreigners ). It is officially known as "Dynamic control platform for overseas personnel". 1/12

The Iran ceasefire has held overnight. Sources telling me serious back channel diplomacy going on including European countries, led by @EmmanuelMacron to demand Lebanon is recognised as part of the ceasefire deal. British Foreign Sec @YvetteCooperMP reaffirms Lebanon must be included in deal. However after a dreadful day there more Israeli strikes there overnight. @itvnews

#BREAKING: In a surprise move, Hong Kong's Court of Appeal allowed pro-democracy media mogul Jimmy Lai's appeal in his 2022 fraud case, quashing the conviction and sentence.

This case is unrelated to his jailing under the national security law, and Lai remains behind bars.

Jimmy Lai has been sentenced to 20 years in prison, with 18 years to run consecutively. The British citizen and former Hong Kong media boss was convicted of colluding with foreign forces and collusion. His sentence is the longest so far under the National Security Law.

A US search and rescue team here in Bangkok helping with todays rescue told us they and several other western rescue teams are being blocked from entering Myanmar, these are people with expertise in natural disasters that could help save lives.

We are waiting for what could finally be some good news from the collapsed State Audit building in Bangkok. We’ve been told that they have located a woman alive in one part of the rubble and two men in another area.

He has drawn criticism for leaving his country in its hour of need and appearing to want to make political capital from the tragedy by attending this summit with other regional leaders including Indian PM Narendra Modi.
