Cominciamo dalla fine: la Slovenia ha stravinto la finale.
Ha vinto, come da pronostico, perchè è la miglior squadra in Europa e una delle 2/3 migliori al mondo. E ha vinto perchè può schierare un giocatore fenomenale, Joksimovic, che l'anno prossimo (o nel 2028) sarà una delle prime 5 scelte al draft NBA.
L'Italia ha perso questa sera, ma ha vinto un meraviglioso argento.
E non un argento qualunque.
Ma uno storico argento, perchè agli Europei Under 18 l'Italbasket non vinceva questa medaglia da 34 anni.
Oltre al talento sconfinato di Cheick Niang, ci sono tanti altri ragazzi in rampa di lancio che hanno tutto per diventare ottimi giocatori: in Italia, in NCAA, o in qualunque altro posto del Mondo.
Nel basket non siamo troppo abituati alle medaglie: speriamo quindi di essere in grado di fare tesoro di questo risultato, dando fiducia a questi ragazzi, concedendogli spazio e la possibilità di sbagliare.
Senza farli marcire in panchina o renderli fenomeni nello sbandieramento di asciugamani.

Per l'ennesima volta a far sorridere il basket italiano ci hanno pensato i giovani: chapeau ragazzi.
