Books, Music, Movies and philosophy rewires me to find a purpose and profound satisfaction in my life. Spiritual journey is all about observing what art says..
Anybody who makes you earn their love doesn't love you.
Love is a gift. It's freely given. You can't transact your way to it the way you can transact your way to a promotion or a good grade. The very thing that makes love love is that it isn't conditional. The moment it becomes conditional, it stops being love and becomes something else. Approval, perhaps. Or maybe usefulness. Worth a great deal, sure, but not love.
The people who get this wrong are usually the people who are good at earning things. Strivers. If you've spent your life learning how to earn every reward the world offers, you'll bring that machinery to your most important relationships. You'll work harder. You'll be more useful. You'll perform. You'll people-please.
The truth is, people-pleasing is outsourcing your self-worth. You're letting other people decide what you're worth and adjusting until they tell you the answer you want. If they like me, I'm okay. If they don't, I'm not. That's a brutal contract to live under… and the worst part is you signed it yourself.
Most people who do this learned it in childhood. Somewhere along the line, they processed the lesson that love is conditional — that affection had to be earned through good grades, good behavior, the right kind of smile. So they kept earning. They became excellent at it, and they never stopped.
Stop confusing love with approval. Keep loving the people in your life; just stop trying to win them. Insource your sense of who you are. Receive what's freely given. When somebody requires payment, pay attention.
The Empty Boat - A Zen Teaching on Why We Become Angry ☸️
A well-known Zen teaching tells of a man rowing across a river in the fog. Suddenly, another boat crashes into his own.
At once, anger rises. The mind prepares its accusations. Harsh words gather like storm clouds.
But as the fog disperses and the boat drifts closer, something unexpected is seen:
The boat is empty.
In that instant, the anger disappears.
Zen uses this simple image to reveal something deep. Much of human suffering comes not from events themselves, but from the stories attached to them. The ego quickly assumes intention: "Someone disrespected me. Someone insulted me. Someone harmed me."
Yet often, people act from their own confusion, pain, distraction, ignorance or blindness - much like empty boats drifting in the fog.
This teaching does not ask the heart to become passive or cold. It asks for clear seeing.
When the mind releases its constant need to defend a solid "self," many wounds lose their sharpness.
Like ripples fading upon still water, anger softens when ignorance is replaced with wisdom.
Sometimes peace begins simply by seeing that the boat was empty all along. 🙏

Don't read this if you are not ready/open to change...
Mind says - what if I get into utter poverty, if I don't achieve my desired goals.
That's the perpetual worry of the mind.
Just ask it this simple question -
"So what?"
So what if you get poor?
So what if you die out of poverty with zero money?
So what if you would need to beg?
So what if you lose everything you gained?
Mind you - society will not teach you this thinking. It wants you running to conform into conditioning - where you act out of fear.
They simply don't know any better way.
But this understanding has the potential to leave you fearless.
That's why I really need you to understand this carefully.
All your worries are about attachment with the body and its survival.
Just look at it and accept the worst of situations that can happen.
Anyway everyone's going to die.
Why live in fear of death, why live in this constant anxiety?
Accept the worst of fears that society has brainwashed you to believe. See that happening in your mind and accept it wholeheartedly.
Accept your death, accept being nothing.
On accepting your worst fears, what's left is fearlessness and freedom.
So what your potential is not fulfilled...?
How many people whose potential had actually got fulfilled in the past - all of them are dead now.
Face the reality. We humans are nothing in this cosmos.
This assumed self-importance is eating you up.
There's nothing wrong, eventually everything - every attachment is going to end.
So...Relax.
Don't let the mind take everything so seriously.
Chill.
