Happy new week
In hydroponics the importance of oxygen to the root is super obvious. The plants develop root hairs to enable the roots breathe.
This week don't just grow upwards, focus on relationships that helps you breath

Earth Day is such a great chance to teach children about conservation and sustainable practices! Well done to all teachers who have used this day as an important teaching tool #UoNTeach
Students in Mrs. Field's class designed Earth Day posters at home. They illustrated how important it is to keep our Earth clean and healthy. Remember to reduce, recycle & reuse to preserve the planet. Great work boys and girls! #DreamLeadAchieve
Couldn't agree more. One thing that's definately lacking in the Australian education system is agriculture! Learning how to grow and consume our food in a responsible way is vital for all of our futures
"Educating youth about -- and instilling an interest in -- agriculture is about more than looking at a number on a budget line. It is about recognizing an investment in the state's future."

What an amazing opportunity for these students to learn about agriculture and responsible consumption and production of food. Very impressed with the opportunities provided at Pattern National School #UoNTeach
We all know that the great outdoors is an amazing classroom, with hundreds of opportunities for learning! Thanks to Mr Hickey for creating this fabulous video of his farm for the children of Parteen. Have a look at what the cows, chickens and dogs are up to this week on the farm!
Giving kids responsibility can be a great way to encourage growth! Gardens can teach children lots of important life skills, as well a strong sense of pride and belonging! #UoNTeach
Although a lot of us take it for granted, recycling is a skill which must be taught. It important to encourage sustainable practices in every classroom #UoNTeach
Just found this incredible online resource!!!!! ICT can be such a helpful tool in the classroom. Teaching kids about topics such as waste management can often be hard, this resource turns it into a game! What a fantastic idea

Teaching kids about things like irrigation can get them thinking about sustainability! With drought being a constant worry for Australians, having a water wise generation will be greatly beneficial!

WOW! What an amazing idea. As I've said before, gardening is fantastic for students in a primary setting! But it can also be used to engage early childhood students, teaching them important principals such as responsibility.

Teach your kids about gardening!
If you don’t have seedlings at home, harvest some from veggies you have in the pantry. This will teach them some practical skills, while teaching them some responsibility in the long run.
Very pleased to be working with @becket_primary school delivering cooking Lessons to parents and children, a healthy eating week and a Big School Bake Off competition. Brilliant to see a primary school be so proactive in promoting cookery skills. All the staff are lovely too 😊
Set ups like this should be present in every classroom nation wide!! By actively engaging kids in sustainable practices such as recycling, we give them crucial life skills, whilst making them more responsible citizens
Teaching kids how to cook not only gives them crucial life skills, but can also be an engaging way to teach subjects like maths and science. Recepies are a versatile teaching tool and should be considered for your next maths or science lesson!
