I remember a single throughout primary school when I would join in on sustainable practices and that was clean up Australia day. It is very important to get children thinking about how cleaning helps save our environment and this is a great initiative. #UonTeach #sustainability

This image made me think of how two different water sources could affect marine life specifically fish. There is a beach as well as a creek near my school context, students can get water samples from each and talk about how fish would adapt to each different one. #UonTeach

This science experiment shows how a fish breaths underwater, and how the gills filter out what isn't needed and what is needed depending on the clearness of the water, this could be used to show how the cleanliness of water effects a fish. #UoNTeach #LifeBelowWater

Storylines can be used as a fun visual exercise that requires critical thinking. In which students create and develop characters that face issues that they need to overcome. This can be linked to the local community and use life below water as a stimulus. #EDUC4750 #UonTeach

The most formal approach to communicating with the community to talk of personal ideas is through writing letters and I see this as an opportunity for students to talk to the local surf club about approaches to help clean and protect life underwater. #UonTeach #LifeBelowWater

This article talks about the importance of visual communication as it has benefits such as information is clear and succinct and easily retainable. People also respond to images better than written words. This is why posters will be utilised for the final project! #UonTeach

I had this idea for a final project also! It enables students to get creative and use all the information they have learnt over the unit to show the community that there are people willing to make a change to protect life below water in an engaging way. #UoNTeach #Sustainable

Found a great visual resource for Life below water #goal14. This poster would be ideal to show students of older primary stage years. Students could then make their own poster to hang around the school to remind peers about keeping our waters clean!
