it's been a long time we know, but we're still here.
Here's the – long overdue – update on DD, with a joint position statement on current debates around decolonization:

we have contributed to the Bloomsbury Design Library with a short – and by no means exhaustive – "Lesson Plan" on Decolonization and Design. Five lessons which aim to serve as an introduction, or even better: a starting point for other lessons.

Moreover, our group calls for designers, design scholars, academics, and institutions to stand up, show support, and actively stand with Palestinians.
There cannot be any talk of "decolonization" without turning the urgent question of Palestine into action.
Palestinians are living under settler colonialism. These are not clashes, not civil war, not a conflict. These terms mask the reality of racist violence on the ground. Language matters: there's an active oppressor and coloniser (Israel) and an oppressed and colonised (Palestine).
We at Decolonising Design condemn the ongoing violence against Palestinians by the state of Israel and ongoing ethnic cleansing of neighborhoods in Occupied East Jerusalem.
We stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle against settler colonialism.
“A politicized designer is a collective designer, because designing is not an activity accomplished by one person.”

The third volume of Modes of Criticism on design and democracy is nearly sold out. With contributions by Els Kuijpers, @Mitropoulos_A, @laura___gordon, @DecolDesign, @silvi0L0russo, @james_trafford & Luke Pendrell. Thanks for the support! https://t.co/duGVky7phG
an English translation of this call has circulated on Design mailing lists but this so far no weblink for the English CfP. Happy to RT when/if available too.
