#Ethiopia: Blinken cautions “Eritrean forces must fully withdraw” from Ethiopia, says “both Ethiopia and #Eritrea must refrain from provocation and respect the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of all countries in the region.”
Addis Abeba- #US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken cautioned “Eritrean forces must fully withdraw” from Ethiopia.
One year after a peace agreement, Eritrean forces continued occupying 52 Kebeles (districts) in north and north eastern #Tigray region where they continued committing atrocity crimes.
In his statement in connection with the first year anniversary of the AU brokered Cessation of Hostilities Agreement (COHA) between the Government of Ethiopia and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) signed in #Pretoria, South Africa a year ago today, Blinken said the “Agreement silenced the guns and ended a horrific two-year war that killed hundreds of thousands and forced millions to flee their homes.”
However, he acknowledged that “while TPLF forces have disarmed their heavy weapons and begun to demobilize, more actions are needed to bring lasting peace and stability to Tigray. Eritrean forces must fully withdraw.”
Secretary Blinken also said “both Ethiopia and Eritrea must refrain from provocation and respect the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of all countries in the region.”
The US also repeated its earlier statements and said it remains “concerned about ongoing conflicts – in Amhara, Oromia, and elsewhere – that threaten Ethiopia’s fragile peace.”
“Continued human rights violations and abuses by multiple actors and the circulation of toxic rhetoric further erode a social fabric worn thin by war,” Blinken’s statement further said.

After having teamed up to violently dismantle the existing constitutional order with the genocidal war on Tigray, the #Oromara transactional political alliance is unable to stop the potential collapse of what could be the last frontier of Ethiopia’s remaining constitutional order
Don't decontextualize the decapitated heads you saw on pikes. From Gedeo to Metekel, Western Tigray & Wollaga, mass violence has been engineered. Look no further than who controls the Gedeo coffee farms, the fertile lands in Metekel & western Tigray & the mineral wealth in Wallaga
#OromoConflict
Yesterday, a video footage displaying two decapitated heads put on pikes and paraded by members of “#Fano militia” was widely shared on SM. The 2 decapitated heads allegedly belonging to members of the OLA fighters, caused further ANGER .
Protest continued Today.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that #Eritrean forces are fighting along with Fano militia against the Oromo liberation army(#OLA) in Oromia region.
They are attempting to repeat exactly what happened in Tigray.
The fate of wallaga = Western Tigray, if tenable action is not taken.
If Fano was an Islamic militia, it would have been quickly branded "terrorist" by international powers.
The medieval barbarism by Fano of roasting humans alive or sticking heads on poles is straight out of Islamic State playbook.
Designate Fano a terrorist group now.
Oromia in total turmoil. Hundreds are killed on weekly bases and millions have been displaced with their homes and farms destroyed. Armed militia pillage villages at will while drones, jets and helicopters indiscriminately rain bombs on civilians.
"On Monday, a video footage showing two decapitated heads put on pikes and paraded by members of “Fano militia” was widely shared on social media."
I just saw a few seconds of a video showing this and I truly have no words. 😲

In Ethiopia, the ENDF massacres civilians and burning bodies and proudly take selfies. This happened yesterday in Gutin (Oromia), 12/3/22. No media is willing to cover this gruesome acts.
Atrocities continue in Ethiopia, Tigray & Oromia. A video is circulating today, where we see savages (there is no other word) brandishing 2 severed heads that would be those of two OLF fighters. Do the authorities really have the will & ability to stop these crimes?
#UNSC@UN_HRC
Every day, massacres compete in horror in #Oromia & #Tigray by Amhara / Fano militias & Eritrean "soldiers" without reaction from the 🇪🇹n govt or the IC. As if the 🌍 were content with peace agreements for Tigray without the protection of the civilians...

What happened to the hypothesis Tigray was the cause of Ethiopia's misery?
How do you explain a death toll of close to 1000 and displacement of estimated 500,000 in new ethnic warfare pitting Oromos against Amhara?
Fano militia gunman takes selfie against background of slain Oromo.
Note Ethiopia flag jacket and Christian cross.
Fano extremists see themselves as enforcers of God's justice, protectors of "One Ethiopia". They are the perpetrators of the worst violence in Ethiopia today.
Circulating on #Ethiopia social media today: heads on pikes.
That's where a national dialogue needs to start - with public acknowledgement of the horrors some have committed against their own countrymen. People burned alive, stoned, lynched, beheaded - sometimes on video.
In Ethiopia, members of the national army and local militia are recording their murder sprees, the burning of people or beheadings on video or they pose in front of it for a selfie. They show no mercy, no remorse, proudly share them on social media.
A culture of impunity.
