"Profits for Britainโs biggest housebuildersย have continued to rise despite routinely producing low-quality homes and failing to meet the UKโs estimated housing needs."

Love this idea - a โWildbeltโ could run through other designated landscapes and connect different parts of the countryside for nature to recover. #nature#countryside#hampshire
๐๐ผ But our countryside can only do the job of tackling the climate emergency if it is protected from unsustainable, car dependant development of unaffordable poorly insulated housing!! ๐ฉ
The ยฃ1.5bn brownfield land funding in @RishiSunak's #budget21 is good news for the countryside.
But it's disappointing not to see plans to tackle transport deserts and ensure there's the genuinely affordable housing our rural communities need.

@HampshireStory interesting launch today! Hampshire really is a special place to live and the countryside is part of this. Letโs look at innovative ways to create beautiful new #inclusive#affordable places for people to live that retain our vital green spaces.
Being Chair of the countryside charity, CPRE Hampshire has been a great experience. Sadly I have to stand down in November as I time out as Chair. If you are interested in environmental issues and have leadership experience, there has never been a better time to be involved!
CPRE Hampshire, the Countryside Charity are looking for a new Chair to lead the organisation. If you think strategically, have good communication skills and a passion for the countryside, weโd love to hear from you. @CPRE_Hampshire https://t.co/n3INcxYV6C
High street regeneration - new project, Basingstoke, Hampshire
Great opportunity to provide some much need new housing within the town centre. The high street has so many fantastic buildings but some that just need a little love. More to follow.
@ACGarchitects
We are not "unlocking" development or "levelling-up" opportunity. We are locking-in growth of induced traffic; less choice in development locations; longer distance commuting, more carbon emmissions, more climate change.... @BrynleyHeaven @riversideros@justspace7@BrentToderian
BREAKING NEWS: #DepositReturn system has been delayed again, until at least 2024.
With 8 billion drinks containers littered or landfilled every year in the UK, we can't afford to kick the can down the road.
We need an all-in system now. RT if you agree

Can planning help combat climate change?
Yes, but...."the issue continues to be undermined by viability and an overwhelming focus on housing numbers rather than building sustainable homes in the right location." @RobertJenrick @ChrisPincher @Ben_Everitt@IoWBobSeely @BrineMP
Look at this @RobertJenrick @ChrisPincher @MPGeorgeEustice@pow_rebecca This map was launched only 4 days ago and already 164 grassroots environmental campaign groups have added themselves to it. https://t.co/oYjg2XRvNl
I cannot believe that the #Census2021 does not record time spent #volunteering. What a missed opportunity! Youโd think the @ONS would want to record the state of the third sector and the contribution currently being made by people to society?
Thrilled that @TestValleyBC voted this evening to support the principle of a new #SouthHampshire#GreenBelt. Thanks to @Nickking for leading the discussion. It will be for the council to set the boundaries as part of their Local Plan process. 1/n
