The weather alarmists are out in full force again today. I’ve seen so many posts pointing out that back in ‘76 or ‘95, we just got on with it — and we did. We made the most of those few days of decent weather we get here in the UK. Yet here we are in 2026, and suddenly people are demanding maximum working temperatures, schools are shutting down, and everyone’s acting like it’s the end of the world.
Funny how we can all fly off to hot countries for two weeks’ holiday and not utter a single complaint about the heat — but when it happens here, it’s treated like a crisis. What’s obvious looking back over 50 years is that all this constant talk around climate change is starting to land. It’s a slow nudge, getting us used to restrictions so they can lead us exactly where they want — towards climate lockdowns and whatever other controls they have lined up.
Let’s not forget: over those same 50 years, we were warned about acid rain, the ozone layer collapsing, the ice caps vanishing, and the Maldives sinking faster than Atlantis. None of those doomsday predictions ever came true — yet every single one led to more government interference, more rules, and higher taxes.
This isn’t about our well-being — it’s a power grab, plain and simple. And it only works if we let it.
With times as difficult as they are, I’ve been torn as to whether I should post this. Equally, the regret of not doing it would’ve eaten away at me.
Even if you can just share it, it would be massively appreciated.
Thank you

@thewanderer58@MartinSLewis I think that was last week. Maybe it's on ITVX to catch up. Otherwise, there's a good guide on the MSE website. https://t.co/dwLbQLdjSG

What a money grabbing, nonsensical bag of rubbish. Are there any actual match-going supporters in favour of this? Not that match goers are part of any discussions these days. Sky and their armchair cash machines rule.
@buddyebbons61 I went too, and my dad took me to the 2nd replay. Couldn't actually see anything, except through people's shoulders, as everyone round me was ten feet tall! I think my hero Garry Jones scored, although we lost.

@DanBarberTF@FootballCliches@Rod_Studd That one really hurt, and I'll bear a lifelong grudge against Everton. Every season I hope they get relegated, but I am very anti-VAR. It's just another thing that ruins match-going fun. Hope it's beggared off somehow by the time, (if ever!) we get to the top division. #bwfc
