Mum and I spontaneously visited a wreck close to my heart when I was last in Perth 💙 Wyola was one of the sites I studied for my Masters thesis. It’s also a gorgeous spot for… https://t.co/oM4UD4qKs7
Today marks one year at @wessexarch 🎉 Being a manager has been a huge learning curve but I’m loving the challenge! I’m so grateful to work with such a great team and in this beautiful old country 🇬🇧
Finally made it to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard!! Despite lots of nerdy photos and enjoyment, I think this moment was my favourite - sunset reflected off HMS Warrior 1860 💜 @PHDockyard#hmswarrior1860
After a shaky start, I’m finally on the Eurostar to Paris with @PetaKnott (@NautArchSoc) to represent @AIMA_underwater at a meeting of @UNESCO NGOs accredited to the 2001 Convention! We will discuss how our NGOs can collaborate for the @UN#OceanDecade 🌊⚓️
Some UK firsts to celebrate this week:
1) @NautArchSoc conference representing @wessexarch! ⚓️
2) Virtual reality experience thanks to @R_OrtizV
3) Scrapeing ice off my windscreen - with a @MSDSMarine scale card 😂
I would add my first snowfall but I MISSED IT!! ❄️ #gutted
A great time was had at the @NautArchSoc field school held in Traeth Bychan, Anglesey on 23-24 June. Read all about it in the latest bilingual blog. https://t.co/xKGl3jmqXG
I'm really excited to see our new paper published in #JAS!
Led by @cabahCoE's @annakreij it reports collaborative research with Kaiadilt in their sea country in the South Wellesley Islands.

@RFMacKintosh Let’s hope! Although I think it has already been past all the MA specialists in the Aussie government... I don’t know about political procedure but will there be a chance for external comment? If so, I’m calling you up!!!
@RFMacKintosh Fortunately State legislation includes most, of not all, of these, and most UCH is within state jurisdiction. Still, it is definitely a big gap!
@RFMacKintosh Out of interest, can you elaborate? As far as I know, this is what is already in place and it works well in Aus. Most shipwrecks found outside of state waters are also often reported to the closest state reps and they transfer info well.
The Underwater Cultural Heritage Bill 2018 has passed the House of Representatives! 👏 Now, on to the Senate. This Bill intends to modernise the Historic Shipwrecks Act 1976 and align with the UNESCO 2001 Convention! @UNESCO_UCH
@qldmaritime Hi @qldmaritime the article claims “No trace of the [AE1] or its 35 hands has ever been found to this day” but it was actually found by a team (supported by ANMM) in Dec 2017, with a 3D model released days ago https://t.co/QsG1zWRj4s You may want to include this happy news 😊
The afternoon Honour Frost Foundation SCUCH Policy Forum discussion focussed on the issues that iron/steel wrecks are actively degrading and disappearing and whether there is a need to prioritise sites and consider management other than protection.
