RAILA Odinga was the owner of Maandamano. I said "was".
Raila odinga nearly patented Maandamano.
Raila had the switch for Maandamano -to switch them on and off.
Raila Odibga would never imagine sharing the power of Maandamano and the glory thereof, with anyone else.
Raila used Maandamano to negotiate his cake - I hear he asked 3 dollars for every vote he got.

That was until three weeks ago when the country witnessed the biggest, cleanest, smartest, most organised and most successful Maandamano without the knowledge, nor mobilisation nor approval of Raila Odinga.

That was like shaving the hair or Samson in the bible. It completely made Raila voiceless and irrelevant in the streets.

That his own grand children (girls) could tell him to stay at home and watch as they executed what he always thought noone else could execute, was a soft insult to him.

That the grand children could force a whole president to hurriedly rush to some makeshift Internet debates on X and withstand their insults, as he struggled to explain himself, was Literally making Raila's version of Maandamano irrelevant.

Raila thought he was the only one who could get zakayo down the tree.
Beaten at it, Raila had to quickly rush to resuscitate himself.

That's why yesterday he was heard saying, "we have stopped Maandamano to give room for dialogue". He still imagined the demos of the past few days were his. He still thought they were Azimio-generated.

He still thinks he is the only Maandamano Chief Executive Officer. He can't imagine anything else.

If you are a Kenyan,

You must have seen a sustained narrative claiming that your president and his deputy are at loggerheads.

They are NOT.

You must have heard that the president is persecuting his deputy just the same way the former president was at loggerheads with his deputy.

They were not.

Here is the thing,

The system keeps you in a sustained political debate.

This artificial conundrum is designed to distract you and vex your spirits.

This debate is meant to sow divisions among citizens.

The system thrives in confusion, division and distraction.

Listen,

The social stratum has the wealthy, the middle class and the poor.

The poor are busy looking for survival, they have little time for political correctness.

The wealthy are busy looking after their wealth by funding politicians to write legislation that will continue making them wealthier.

The crux of the matter is in the middle class where you and I sit.

These are the pawns of the game. They are educated but are idiots.

They are the ones who go to the queue for voting.  (The poor don't vote unless induced by money).

The middle class are the noise decibels.

They are the donkeys that work hard to feed the rich. They are heavily taxed.

They are the fools thrown into a heated circus to hate each other, create divisions and distract themselves.

They claim to be learned but cannot decipher the political con game.

The middle class are the ones with big televisions, smartphones and computers. It is here the rich pay the media to sow seeds of confusion and distraction.

It is only a foolish Kenyan who thinks the political crooks from both ends of the political divide don't meet privately to laugh at how they have divided the masses.

It is only a foolish citizen who thinks politicians serve them.

They don't and will never.

• Britain

Refuse to be drawn into imaginary conflicts.

Focus on your goals.

Mobilize your energies.

Politicians won't save you. They are part of the problem.
