I think it’s fair to say that Hasan and his defenders obviously miscalculated. By a LOT. He saw low approval numbers for dems and Israel, smelled blood in the water, and thought he would roll through while everyone stood and clapped.

What I think he and a lot of people in his space got wrong is that low approval for Israel is not the same thing as the median voter thinking about it very much. They’re just not. Voters have never prioritized foreign policy, and they’ve certainly never prioritized a completely different country doing what it does.

The Democratic Party is an institution, not a restaurant with bad yelp reviews. Anyone paying attention since 2024 knows that Dem voters are insanely fired up to vote, frustrated as they may be with leadership and the fact that Trump won again. Watch those numbers again when we have the House+Senate and are grilling Trump’s cabinet in televised hearings day after day.

And Hasan obviously has gotten so used to journalists that are way out of their depth, having no idea how to cover him or do the actual work of learning what his politics really are in practice. Now dems and republicans are flooding the zone with his greatest hits of insane ideas and quotes, and it became obvious pretty quickly that he does not belong within 100 yards of any dem candidate running in a competitive race.

He’s…not adjusting to this realization well. He and his supporters are fighting it with all their might, insisting that the only reason he’s toxic is that he’s being taken out of context. They’re blaming everyone but him for the consequences of his own rhetoric. They told themselves for years that their politics would spread like wildfire if they could get their message out there. They don’t want to let that go, so they’re in denial about the reality of how he plays in MI and ME and TX etc etc.

It’s all kind of sad and silly imo.

@InfinityWard I've been really loving the beta after skipping the last 2 CODs, it feels really solid. The gun play is top notch, the maps are smaller but it's a beta, and the ttd feels a little too quick, but again it's a beta..and 10v10 gunfight is fantastic!
