Polio Cases are down >99% since 1988, and wild polio is endemic in just two countries. When coverage slips, outbreaks return so we keep going. Honor health workers, empower parents, protect every child.
🌍 On this World Polio Day, we celebrate how far we have come and and recommit to finishing the job. At the PVAC 2025, we are committed to empower the next generation of Eradicators. https://t.co/c0n8t2gbDg

Meet Dr. Mahtab Bamji, a true icon in the field of nutrition research and public health in India. At an age when most have long retired, she continues to inspire generations with her relentless dedication to science, service, and nation-building.
With a career spanning over six decades, Dr. Bamji has made groundbreaking contributions to nutrition research and its grassroots implementation—bridging the gap between the lab and the lives of rural communities.
From leading the National Institute of Nutrition to pioneering community-based nutrition interventions in rural Telangana, her work has saved lives, improved health outcomes, and uplifted countless women and children.
Today, as she continues her work with undiminished passion, she reminds us that age is no barrier to purpose.
