Sometimes, a big gap-down in a downtrend marks the end of the downtrend.
One thing I've observed repeatedly while studying charts over the years:
Sounds strange, right?
A stock is already falling. Bad news arrives.
Everyone becomes bearish.
The stock opens with a large gap-down.
At that moment, most people expect even lower prices.
But sometimes, something interesting happens.
Despite all the bad news and panic,
the stock fails to make a meaningful new low.
It's as if all the sellers who wanted to sell have already sold.
The news is bad. The sentiment is negative. But price stops reacting lower.
In my experience, this can be an early sign that the downtrend is losing strength.
I'm not saying every gap-down leads to a reversal.
Far from it.
But when a market absorbs bad news and refuses to fall further, it's worth paying attention.
Many major bottoms are formed not when the news turns good,
but when the market stops falling on bad news.
Just an observation from years of watching price behavior.
Have you noticed this as well?
