It fires when Budha keeps its dignity in the navāṃśa — not the rāśi alone — free of combustion, and the Lagneśa is strong enough to carry it.
Sharpest of all in the 10th from the Lagna: the mind placed directly in the bhāva of career and public standing.
Then the cleverness stops being admired and starts being paid. Speech that persuades. Analysis that earns. Commerce that compounds.
This is the reading a template never reaches — it sees Budha in Kanyā and stops. Dignity, varga, and daśā decide whether the mind pays.

A Mahāpuruṣa yoga is a treasury. Present is not the same as opened.
Bhadra stays unspent when:
• Budha is dignified in the rāśi but falls in the navāṃśa, or is combust beside the Sun — the mind bright but burned.
• The Lagneśa is weak — the vessel cannot turn the gift into standing.
• The daśā has not turned — the treasury is stocked, but the key has not been given.
The intelligence is real. The reward has not been released.

This is Bhadra Yoga — one of the five Pañca Mahāpuruṣa yogas, the marks of a “great being,” and the one carried by Budha.
It forms when Mercury — exalted or in its own sign, Kanyā or Mithuna — stands in a kendra (1, 4, 7, 10) from the Lagna.
Budha is the mind: intellect, speech, calculation, Money, and commerce. Dignified in an angle, it does not just make you clever — it makes the cleverness compound into standing and wealth.
The signature is there. Whether it pays is another matter.

On the debate sparked by ‘Satluj’, I see many people here asking “why Hindus have never managed to align themselves politically in Punjab?!”.
As a Punjabi Hindu I feel this is because we have never managed to see Sikhs as separate from us. We have never really understood why we have been targeted and killed by Khalistanis.
Disputes over state boundaries, river water sharing, language…were these kind of petty reasons enough to tear the blood bond that Punjabi Hindus and Sikhs shared for centuries and start a lame separatist movement?! Was it not obvious that the country’s only martial community was being weaponised against itself by vested interests?!
Is it fair to blame all Hindus for the heinous crimes of 1984 for which only one political party was responsible?!
Is it fair to bury the thousands of stories of violence and rape by Khalistanis before 1984?!
To me, the widening rift between Hindus and Sikhs is a source of personal anguish.
A Sikh brother once said to me, “Hindus and Sikhs are like a finger and its nail: They are inseparable.”
Praying that all Punjabis can see past their anger, something which they are prone to, to find love and brotherhood again, which they are known for.
