Basics of Timing and Types of Sādhanā:
Sometimes we have questions regarding the selection of sādhanā, such as: What if we do not have our birth chart? Or which are the important tithis or auspicious times during which anyone can initiate new sādhanā, pūjā, stotra pāṭha, or perform special pūjā for material or spiritual pursuits?
With the grace and wisdom of Mahādeva and @mmpandit sir, I am sharing a few important points below.
Important Tithis for Sādhanā
1. Birth Nakshatra Day:
One must give dāna and perform homa related to the ongoing sādhanā. If nothing else is possible, at least perform Gaṇapati Homa. (The calculation of this day is clearly explained in this video by @mmpandit, sir – Link: https://t.co/4OcOLpDvcF, Timestamp: 38:00).
2. Amāvasyā:
Perform Pitṛ and Devatā Tarpana as per the manual prepared by @homam108, sir (Use Simple Tarpana Manual – Link: https://t.co/msNmzVjXmx). Also Chant Diśā and Śarīra Bandhana Mantra for protection.
3. Pūrṇimā:
Special japa of Śiva, meditation, or Moon-related japa can be performed on this day.
4. Sūrya Saṅkrānti Day:
Perform sādhanā and dāna related to Sūrya Deva.
5. Puṣya Nakshatra:
Sādhanā initiated on this tithi gives multifold results. One should definitely perform homa of ongoing sādhanās on this day [Dates of Pushya Nakshatra in 2026: https://t.co/7Vls8C5MAE].
6. Pitri Tarpan Days:
Fifteen days before Chaitra and Sharad Navratra, there is a sacred period of fifteen days during which special pūjā for the Pitṛs can be performed [Link:https://t.co/bvSG1uPGmD].
7. Grahan (Eclipse) Days:
Solar and lunar eclipse periods are extremely potent for invoking and practicing mantras and stotras.
Tithi can be identified by @drikpanchang [Link:https://t.co/A0U6aamSZZ]
Important Practices to Follow:
1. The most important rule is to perform sādhanā at the same place, same time (±5 minutes is acceptable), and same direction. This helps fix time and space. If you travel during sādhanā, carry your āsana (preferably red in color) and sit facing the same direction.
2. Brahmacarya is the key to success.
3. Everyone should wear Rudrākṣa (54 beads are sufficient). Start with 5-mukhi, preferably of Nepal origin. Rudrākṣa must be properly invoked as per the prescribed process [Link: https://t.co/KPPNuQ6wip]. Do not wear Rudrākṣa while sleeping or during śauca kriyā.
4. Gaṇapati Sādhanā / Stotra Pāṭha and Homa is the foundation of all sādhanās. This should be done regularly by everyone, especially during the initial stage, for at least 41 days.
5. Diśā and Śarīra Bandhana Mantra — Must chant before any Patha; chant at least 41 times (Link: https://t.co/PcSOYUIjSc and https://t.co/MNODllqId3).
6. Arghya to Sūrya Deva is mandatory (Link: https://t.co/9wgDrTpPTb).
7. Daily Homa — whether short or long, it must be done. Use a simple homa manuals prepared by @homam108, sir (Homa Manual – Link: https://t.co/tzfs8ZvAZw).
8. Do not change sādhanās frequently. One sādhanā at a time should be taken.
9. For the effect of Stotra Japa, the count should be 1000 or 2000 repetitions, completed within 41 or 51 days.
10. Nāma Japa is extremely helpful in preparing the sādhaka and filling the heart with devotion (bhakti).
11. Mantra Japa takes longer to manifest results. One may begin with simple mantras. Complex mantras or advanced sādhanās must be attempted only in the guidance of a competent Guru, only.
12. Visit a Tīrtha Kṣetra at least twice a year (during Uttarāyaṇa and Dakṣiṇāyaṇa). Stay for at least two nights and perform substantial japa or pāṭha in temple premises or a quiet sacred place. Do Pradakshina.
13. Perform Tripāṇḍī Śrāddha / Pitṛi Tarpana at Gayā, Kāśī, Haridwār, Badrināth, Puṣkar, or Kurukṣetra, or as per local tradition, once every three years.
14. If you do not know any pūjā procedure, simply chant Hanumān Cālīsā at least 11 or 21 times daily. This single practice can resolve multiple problems.
15. Try to avoid traveling on Kali Chaudas and Mahāniśā Rātris (from Krishna Paksha Chaturdashi to Amāvasyā).
16. Must Learn basics of Panchanga, Sanskrit [https://t.co/sem3ucbzLE] and Jyotish.
Above all, do not lose patience or hope.
Remain aligned with some form of Devatā Sādhanā.
We have come here only to exhaust our good and bad karmas through experience and sādhanā.
Remember, Every suffering offers a new opportunity to learn and evolve.
Enrich and equip yourself and your soul with learning and sādhanā.
Mahādeva will take care of everything else.

#WATCH | Berlin, Germany: Following several days of festivities, the Sri Ganesha Temple in Berlin’s Neukölln opened on Sunday. Located on the edge of the Hasenheide park, the seventeen-meter-high tower—adorned with hundreds of sculptures and reliefs—is recognizable as part of a recognisableHindu temple even from a distance.

Shri Sambandha Vinayakar at Tiruvannamalai Shri Arunachaleshwarar temple. HE is covered with sendhooram and hence called Sennira Vinayakar(Red Vinayaka). It is here Vinayaka smeared his body with the blood of an Asura.
As per @mmpandit Sir’s recommendations, One of the most beneficial ways to perform Hanuman Chalisa Sadhana is to recite it 21 times in a single sitting.
Maintain the practice daily at the same time and in the same place for 21, 40, or 51 consecutive days. Consistency and devotion are more important than intensity.
People think it’s just a story.
What’s the proof for Karbhajan Narayan (Gahini Nath) being real?
Remember Dnyaneshwar Maharaj at Alandi ?
His elder brother Nivrutti nath taught him. And where did Nivrutti Nath learn?
Nivrutti went in search of this Gahini nath and found him in a cave in meditation (he is an immortal) and having taken Diksha from Gahini Nath, was transformed.
You wouldn’t know this story if Dnyaneshwar had not manifested the Siddhi he shows and even today the pilgrimage runs from Alandi to Pandharpur and of course people know about Dnyana BUT everyone has forgotten Gahini nath who is still there in Samadhi.
It is by the disciple that the Master is known…
The famous Shankar maharaj also has seen Gahini Nath who is still there ready to bestow blessings on a seeker who will try and find him but in today’s TikTok world and 6 minute attention span, who will bother?
A few only… who will learn in the old method… the long hard slog.
Namaste Friends, For those who wish to purchase Shri Navnath Bhaktisaar, I recommend using the link provided below. I purchased my copy through the same source and had a good experience. I would also recommend purchasing a good-quality red book cloth or cover (leaf) to keep and protect the book. I personally use both the book and the red cover (leaf), which is why I am recommending them based on my own experience.

Namaste Friends, I wish to share something that I found both important and meaningful.
Over the past week, I had the opportunity to interact with a few friends, and we had an engaging discussion on a common question: Does spiritual sadhana, mantra japa, stotra patha, or parayana really bring any change in our lives, especially when our horoscope (kundali) indicates certain positive or negative outcomes?
We need to understand that we are born to experience the fruits of our past karmas—both good and bad. Major life events such as birth in a particular family or gotra, marriage, and children are often considered predestined. Further, by the time we reach the age of 40, we have already accumulated many new karmas, both positive and negative. Some karmic results have already manifested, while many remain stored in our karmic account.
So, where does sadhana fit into all of this?
I tried to look at it from a simple mathematical perspective. Suppose we dedicate only a small portion of our day—about 6% of our time—to sincere spiritual practice. Six percent of 24 hours is approx. one hour a day. If this effort is continued consistently for one mandala (41 days), the effect becomes significant.
Mathematically:
(1.06)^41 ≈ 10.90
This means that if something grows by just 6% every day for 41 days, it becomes nearly 11 times stronger than its original state.
The message is simple: even a small, regular effort can create a profound transformation over time. Instead of doing nothing, a little daily sadhana can gradually change our inner strength, clarity, devotion, and even our response to life's challenges.
Interestingly, some of my friends were so convinced by this perspective that they started performing Ganesh Homa regularly from last Sunday.
At this point, I am reminded of the words of Guruji (Shri @mmpandit Ji):
"Sadhana, Sadhana sab kahen, Sadhana kare na koi;
Jo Sadhana kare, Janma Safal ho soi."
(Everyone speaks about sadhana, but very few actually practice it. The one who truly performs sadhana makes this human birth meaningful.)
My humble request to all of you is this: each of us is facing some challenge, suffering, uncertainty, or struggle. Yet Mahadev and Maa Shakti have been infinitely compassionate in granting us birth in this sacred Punya Bhumi of Bharat.
Let us not waste this opportunity. Whatever path resonates with you—mantra japa, stotra patha, meditation, puja, seva, or simple remembrance of the Divine—please practice it regularly.
Even a small daily effort, performed with sincerity and faith, can transform a lifetime.
Har Har Mahadev.

Great question Sampada didi:
Q is ‘Can I read it in English as reading in Marathi takes a long time?’.
Ans:
Navnath Bhaktisaar (not Kathasaar) in Prakrit Marathi (old style Marathi) is a composition of Malu Kavi, a few centuries old. It is derived from Goraksha Kimayagaar.
It is a Shabari poem of superb power. Therefore like any other Shabar mantra or ANY other stotra or ANY other mantra, translation into English is almost completely non potent except to understand its meaning if that’s an issue (so there it’s useful).
But for anusthana purposes, not chanting it in Prakrit original is basically not likely to give any results.
I faced this issue acutely when I started Navnath Bhaktisaar in 1990’s as Marathi is not my mother tongue and it took me time to chant initially but luckily later on, some chapters I could chant at speed.
I suggest therefore to take one problem in life and look at which chapter is the best for that situation and then stick to chanting that one chapter daily for a year at least.
At minimum it will increase faith. At best it might solve the situation or give courage to face it.
QTing as others can benefit.
Thank you for your kind words, @evanescence2109 Ji.
You have highlighted a very important point. Whatever little wisdom and understanding we possess today is solely due to the grace of Mahadev and the blessings of the Gurumandala (@mmpandit Sir and @homam108 Sir). I would also like to acknowledge the constant guidance, encouragement, and inspiration of @arunishas Di and @LaxmiSeshaiyer Ji, whose support has been invaluable in this journey.
Under their inspiration, many of us are working together to encourage people to begin some form of spiritual sadhana. The idea is to learn, practice, and pass this sacred knowledge on to the next generation.
If we continue to consistently motivate and guide new seekers, I am confident that over the next 10 years, millions of people will be empowered with Sattvic strength and spiritual awareness. Such a transformation can create a profound positive impact on individuals, families, and society as a whole.
Every sincere effort counts, and together we can make a meaningful difference.

@amanzrx@mmpandit Yes, you can read it since the script is in Devanagari. A Hindi version of the story is also available on YouTube, which can help you understand the meaning and context. However, for recitation (patha/parayana), it is recommended to chant only the original version.
