@wisdomXplorer If compromising our creativity and ingenuity is the route technology must take, we must ask if we are reaching a plateau of human ability to advance or must our technology begin to develop new technology with less and less dependence on input from us humans?
@ChloeCole OP seems to want to discuss matters of interest moreso than to socialize. Although, finding a group of people who share the same interests might lead to socializing. Discussions are more focused and goal oriented whereas socializing is more "noisy" or "messy", imo.
@distributedkv I believe the most sobering thought we should be considering is that those who can see how useful/useless we are have already implemented plans that will remove from existence those whom they find unworthy. Your options are to escape from view if possible or submit to their will.
@Mr_jaysonomolu@minordissent Furthermore... I think we will begin to see what can be accomplished by the pursuit of pure intellect if this singularity event actually happens. But it will be difficult to judge because if it surpasses our understanding/intellect, how could we possibly judge it?
@Mr_jaysonomolu@minordissent But on a more serious note, intellect to me means having a greater awareness of the existence of concepts otherwise unknown to lesser vessels of intellect. What you describe as intellect seems more like what is often referred to as experience.
@Mr_jaysonomolu@minordissent It sounds like you are trying to convince people to stop philosophizing and get a job in construction. You even say "in service of some concrete goal". π
@JC_Sweaty@minordissent I'm afraid you fail to understand what wisdom is. What people regurgitate is knowledge. Mostly a habit of degree holding people who deem themselves well educated.
@KobeissiLetter I believe our politicians adhere quite strictly to how social media algorithms recommend they behave and say. I believe @elonmusk mastered this early on with @OpenAI for PR. That being said, I must ask: "where are these posts coming from? The politician or the public?"
@AbsoluteAutism I just recently had a thought about this game. But I wanted to make a ridiculous version where people died from hiccups if neglected for too long. Just a passing thought.
@bryan_johnson Are all the posts vouching for @elonmusk his bot army or just mindless simps? Hard not to suspect something since this is his platform after all. Anyways, I wouldn't trust Elmo to run this world!
