So you remember all that bullish*t about cracking down on polluters, holding water companies to account, the new water industry enforcement levy etc etc....
Well guess what, the @EnvAgency has just offered WCs a 40% discount on the first year charges.
What a hoax.
"Despite ministers’ claims that water companies will be made to pay for cleaning up Britain’s rivers, government analysis has found that the companies are likely to pass the cost of new charges on to consumers."
NO SHIT!

Thames Water was privatised in 1989 with no debt.
Since then it’s racked up £14.7 billion in debt at the same time as paying out £10.4 billion to its shareholders.
If that's not a scam, I don't know what is!
#OurWaterOurWay
Following yesterday's announcement that a staggering, recording breaking 3,614,428 hours worth of sewage had been dumped into the environment.
Here's what that actually looks like.
Massive thank to the @WATERSHED_i team for the brilliance.
https://t.co/KeXsKmQDbo
So let me see how this works then.
Local campaigner Steve Lavelle asks @NorthumbrianH2O for details of how much sewage they dump into the sea at Whitburn. @NorthumbrianH2O says get stuffed.
Steve Lavelle takes @NorthumbrianH2O to the first-tier tribunal (High Court) which orders @NorthumbrianH2O to release the data, turns out to be 1 million tonnes in 2023.
Yesterday @NorthumbrianH2O CEO tells Parliament the data is "not necessarily accurate".
So who's being mislead then, is it the High Court or Parliament? 🤔

If you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu.
#Thames Water is being devoured by powerful corporate interests, whilst bills go up and the public is sidelined.
82% of us want water in public ownership. It’s high time we got a seat at the table.

Day one - Appeal Court hearing to overturn an extortionate Thames Water loan plan that will waste almost £1 billion customers' money in 6 months.
Windrushwasp's MP Charlie Maynard leading for the public interest v financial predation.

Next week -

"Short of being taken back into public ownership, there is no choice for Thames Water but to keep borrowing and carry on"
YES - take it back into public ownership
Why is it better to be ripped off forever?
When will this privatisation ideology topple?

#Thames#Water is on the brink of collapse.
Treasury officials are planning for what comes next.
We’ve written to the government to urge them to meet us to discuss public ownership.
82% of us want this solution. The time is now!

The Treasury is planning for Thames Water's collapse which could be in just 17 days
I've written to @RachelReevesMP@SteveReedMP asking them to meet us
16 million "customers" must get a say over what happens next
Time for PERMANENT PUBLIC OWNERSHIP

🚨NEWS! Chefs, artists & campaigners join forces to demand Nando's publicly commit to protecting rivers.
@NandosUK, you have the power to set a new industry standard by holding your poultry suppliers to account. Will you commit to protecting UK rivers?

Today the largest review of the water industry since privatisation will launch its call for evidence
But the government has taken the option of PUBLIC OWNERSHIP off the table ⁉️
Absolutely irrational not to *consider* how 90% of the world delivers water

😡8 in 10 Brits hate privatised water - and want it in public ownership.
Steve Reed launched a review of the water industry but banned the reviewers even considering public ownership.
This is unacceptable. If you agree click the link in the replies and sign the petition now 👇🏼

The Independent Water Commission - so independent that -
no matter the strength of the evidence
it will not be allowed to report that privatisation is a scam and public ownership the answer.

"Reed has ruled out nationalisation, saying it would cost up to £100bn".
Let me be very clear about this, any reference to a £100 billion cost to nationalise the water industry is a demonstratively, blatant, provable, untruth.
That figure relates to a report commission by 4 water companies @AnglianWater, @stwater, @SouthWestWater and @uugroupplc and referred to by @Dieter_Helm Fellow in Economics, New College, Oxford as "economically illiterate". @tomespiner

“Dividend ban on water firms unlikely, water commission hints”
re-nationalisation of water companies not being considered either
Can someone tell me what exactly is the point of this “commission”?
To rubber stamp higher water bills & even more sewage?
https://t.co/2woaucabYP
"Why is Thames Water in so much trouble?." Err, because the regulator is totally and utterly hopeless.
Where do I collect my prize?
