Waiting this long for the Next-Gen Roadster is a blessing in disguise imo. The car is only going to be even more crazy. Think about how much technology has advanced since 2017/18.

• Roadster production will start 12-18 months after the unveiling.

I also think the design will be look way cooler than the original design from 2017. So pumped to see it.

Today, Tesla announced that the first production Cybercab has rolled off the manufacturing line. Now, the company needs to deliver on the $30k price. There's 10 months left in 2026 :)

The priority shift is because I’m worried that a natural or manmade catastrophe stops the resupply ships coming from Earth, causing the colony to die out.

We can make the Moon city self-growing in less than 10 years, but Mars will take 20+ years due to the 26 month iteration cycle.

That is what matters most.

There is also an AI bonus element, but the prime directive must be ensuring the long-term survival of consciousness.

For those unaware, SpaceX has already shifted focus to building a self-growing city on the Moon, as we can potentially achieve that in less than 10 years, whereas Mars would take 20+ years.

The mission of SpaceX remains the same: extend consciousness and life as we know it to the stars.

It is only possible to travel to Mars when the planets align every 26 months (six month trip time), whereas we can launch to the Moon every 10 days (2 day trip time). This means we can iterate much faster to complete a Moon city than a Mars city.

That said, SpaceX will also strive to build a Mars city and begin doing so in about 5 to 7 years, but the overriding priority is securing the future of civilization and the Moon is faster.

There has been a lot of press claiming @SpaceX is raising money at $800B, which is not accurate.

SpaceX has been cash flow positive for many years and does periodic stock buybacks twice a year to provide liquidity for employees and investors.

Valuation increments are a function of progress with Starship and Starlink and securing global direct-to-cell spectrum that greatly increases our addressable market.

And one other thing that is arguably most significant by far.
