The ADG reminded the audience that we must assume a collective responsibility to fulfill the National Vision of developing a VIKSIT and SASHAKT BHARAT.

Air Mshl PV Shivanand, AOC-in-C, South Western Air Command undertook an operational review of air bases in Saurashtra sector. He was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour on arrival. The Air Mshl undertook a sortie on a Maritime strike aircraft, reaffirming SWAC’s commitment to ensuring a robust capability in the maritime domain. He reviewed Air Defence and Air operations facilities and interacted with station personnel, emphasising the importance of 24 x 7 operational vigilance, professionalism, training rigour and physical as well as mental resilience to remain future-ready.

On 25 Aug 2026, AFFWA HQ conducted the AFFWA Declamation Contest 2026 at the Air Force Auditorium, Subroto Park, New Delhi, bringing together 16 participants representing various AFFWA (Regionals).

An esteemed panel of six judges evaluated the contestants. The English category was judged by Mrs Nandita Mukerji, Author Sherry, and Mr Neelesh Kulkarni, while the Hindi category was judged by Sr Prof (Dr) Niranjan Kumar, Prof Punam Kumari, and Dr Vibhavari. With participants displaying remarkable confidence, clarity, and conviction, selecting the winners proved to be a challenging task for the judges.

In the English category, Master Redhaan Thakurdas from AFFWA (R) CAC was declared Runner-up, while Master Lakshya Vats from AFFWA (R) SWAC emerged as the Winner. In the Hindi category, Miss Shipra Tripathi from AFFWA (L) ASTE, Air HQs was declared Runner-up, while Master Chirag Janmeda from AFFWA (R) WAC emerged as the Winner.

Adding to the vibrancy of the event, Master Rehaan Nazeer, a Class XI student of TAFS, showcased his remarkable talent as a drumming sensation, while the special presentation “Sapno ki Udaan” by the students of Umeed VTC and AFGJI, Subroto Park, added a memorable and inspiring dimension to the programme.

The judges also shared their “Pearls of Wisdom” with the participants and audience, offering valuable insights on confidence, communication, expression, perseverance, and personal growth.

The contest celebrated the power of expression, confidence, and young talent, making the finale a truly memorable occasion for the AFFWA family.
