@SkyrstLoL@jonnygeeking@xPetu 3/2 (lol)
this is mainly due to wpa requiring WAYYYYYY more computing than showing simple winrates, due to the need of model training, calibrating and afterwards debiasing and prepping databuckets
@SkyrstLoL@jonnygeeking@xPetu 2/2: we will catch up eventually with the data
but still as explanation:
e+ somewhat matches lolalytics data,
d+ somewhat matches lolalytics d2+ data
@SkyrstLoL@jonnygeeking@xPetu hi, im late, but still:
we are currently recomputing alot of older patches to get skill up wpa (new feature) live, which causes us to be a bit behind with the amount of games of the current patch
we basically show half the data of what lolalytics is showing (e+ 3.3mio vs 6.8mio)
@bonevoid She is isolated, just the visual is not there
You can even see the cooldown refund glow in the 2. picture and the damage is for sure isolated dmg
@SkyrstLoL you already kinda are by interacting with the posts and sharing your thoughts/takes on the data, that kind of stuff genuinely helps us improve the platform 🚬
dont ask me for pay tho 👀
@SkyrstLoL yea the noise of the other purchases doesnt rly matter here, but it shouldnt be ignored
its just hard to visualize the full concept of wpa and debiasing in the scope of a single twitter post
i dont want anything tho, just trying to give insight, because im working on coachless :D
@SkyrstLoL the other items do impact the wpa, because starter items wpa are zeroed around all the purchases yes
the doran items (except helm) in my screenshot make up 98~% of the purchases, so the impact of the other items on the dorans wpa is smaller than you might think, it barely exists
@SkyrstLoL also, the law of large numbers will average out the impact of smurfs over time
and if you’re concerned about lower-rank distortion, you can filter the data to only d+ or m+ games like on any other page
we found from our data research that WPA stabilizes at around 5k+ purchases
@SkyrstLoL we consider player skill
yes rare purchases spike higher/lower in WPA compared to the "mainstream" items, but thats why you should not look at ONLY wpa and buy whatever has the highest number
you can check in what situations the purchases are good and make your own decisions
@SkyrstLoL There are many ways to interpret the data, but to keep it simple i'd say that in niche situations the item is strong on a few apc users (funny enough, its 75% bought by teemo adc with +1.52 wpa XD)
It's not included, because the post is about "Dorans items" i guess? lol
