NERIWALM and Tezpur University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a collaborative framework for advancing education, research, innovation, capacity building, and student development.

The MoU aims to facilitate joint academic and research activities, knowledge exchange, faculty and student engagement, and collaborative initiatives in water resources, land management, and allied fields. This partnership reflects the shared commitment of both institutions towards promoting interdisciplinary research, innovation, and sustainable development through academic excellence.

पानी कम, अनाज ज्यादा। ये चमत्कार नहीं, सीधा गणित है।
भारत में खेती करीब 80% पानी इस्तेमाल करती है, और बाढ़ सिंचाई जैसी पुरानी विधि में आधा पानी फसल तक पहुँचने से पहले ही उड़ जाता है या जमीन में नीचे चला जाता है। यानी हर दूसरी बाल्टी बर्बाद।

सूक्ष्म सिंचाई यही हिसाब बदल देती है। ड्रिप बूँद-बूँद सीधे जड़ तक पानी पहुँचाती है, इसकी दक्षता 90% से ऊपर है। स्प्रिंकलर बारिश की तरह छिड़कता है और बाढ़ सिंचाई से 20 से 40% कम पानी में काम चला देता है।

और नतीजा सिर्फ बातों में नहीं है। उत्तर प्रदेश के सूखे जिलों में ड्रिप से उपज 45% तक बढ़ी, और राजस्थान के अर्ध शुष्क इलाकों में स्प्रिंकलर से 35% पानी बचा और उपज 30% बढ़ी। टमाटर, बैंगन, मिर्च, केला, आम जैसी फसलों के लिए ड्रिप; और मक्का, बाजरा, दलहन, गोभी जैसी फसलों के लिए स्प्रिंकलर ज्यादा सही बैठता है।

प्राकृतिक खेती के साथ इसका मेल और बेहतर है। ड्रिप के पानी में जीवामृत मिलाइए तो पोषण सीधे जड़ तक, और ड्रिप के साथ पलवार करिए तो वाष्पीकरण और घट जाता है। बूँद बूँद हिसाब; पानी 90% तक काम का, उपज 45% तक ज्यादा।

गंगा की सेहत का पैमाना है डॉल्फिन, और आज इंसानियत ने उसका कर्ज चुकाया।

तीन दिन से महाराजगंज, गोरखपुर के परतावल के एक नहर में लगभग 7.2 फुट लंबी और 147 किलो वजनी एक गर्भवती गांगेय डॉल्फिन फंसी थी। भारत की राष्ट्रीय जलीय जीव, जिसे सदियों से गंगा की आत्मा कहा जाता रहा है, तेज बारिश से उफनती नहर में जिंदगी और मौत के बीच झूल रही थी। पहला रेस्क्यू प्रयास नाकाम भी हुआ।

डॉल्फिन सिर्फ एक जलीय जीव नहीं, नदी तंत्र की सेहत की जिंदा निशानी है। जहाँ डॉल्फिन बचती है, वहाँ नदी, उसकी मछलियां, और पूरा जल-चक्र बचता है। और उस दिन गर्भ में पल रही एक नई जिंदगी भी इसी उम्मीद पर टिकी थी।

सोमवार को वन विभाग, गोरखपुर चिड़ियाघर, टीएसए फाउंडेशन, सिंचाई विभाग और पुलिस एक साथ खड़े हुए। नमामि गंगे द्वारा संचालित गंगा डॉल्फिन रेस्क्यू एंबुलेंस के लिए भटहट से राजघाट तक 20 किमी का ग्रीन कॉरिडोर बनाया गया, ताकि रास्ते का हर पल बचाया जा सके।

एक घंटे पांच मिनट। 52 किलोमीटर। और फिर राप्ती नदी की सुरक्षित गोद जहाँ डॉल्फिन ने एक बार फिर आज़ादी की सांस ली।

एक डॉल्फिन बची, एक नन्ही जान बची, और गंगा की एक धड़कन फिर लौट आई।

Water harvesting infrastructure will be established in 75 CM SHRI Schools across Delhi under a tripartite MoU signed, in the presence of Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta, between Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), the Directorate of Education and EHSAS Foundation.

Supported through IGL’s CSR initiative, the project will create rooftop rainwater harvesting systems, strengthen groundwater recharge and promote water conservation awareness among students and teachers.

This pilot initiative will lay the foundation for expanding rainwater harvesting across government and MCD schools, supporting a greener and more water-secure Delhi.
