me, through tears, hands shaking, experiencing a major life upheaval: okay hang on, wait, I gotta write down what I’m feeling to inflict on a character later
if you feel like sending a writer a kind message, do it. if you want to share with them how much their work has meant to you: do it. i know it can feel like you are bothering them but trust me when i say it can make their day! 💕
This is just a friendly reminder that buying a book, reading it, and then returning it actually costs authors money. It’s not net zero. Stop using Amazon as a library and go to the real library.
Amazon doesn’t eat the cost of returns. They pass it back to the publishers who pass it back to the writers. You’re not gaming a large corporation. When you buy a book, read it, and then return it, you’re stealing from authors.
don’t bother telling a “villain origin story” if you aren’t willing to make them at least a little bit of a sicko. if there’s nothing that makes me, a sicko, press my forehead to the window and say “yes… ha ha ha… YES,” then it’s a story that doesn’t need to be told
Had a conversation today about whether or not children “know” they’re queer. I said, of course. This person disagreed. I explained how I knew in the 4th grade. They asked how I could have a memory so specific from that time. I told him that’s when Sailor Moon came out in America.
Modesty will not save you. It didn’t save our mothers, sisters, grandmothers. Clothes, revealing skin/not revealing skin is a non factor when we live in a world where men are primed to view women as objects to be used for their own pleasure
Modesty and not having an onlyfans did not stop those men from stalking and violating the privacy of that home depot girl. So maybe the conversation needs to shift from “girls need to be more modest” to “some men need to learn what boundaries & respect is”
