@OwlyDrew @Dann_Sw This isn’t just esports. Most broadcast TV is run in absolutely terrifying ways. Everything is done last minute by people under insane amounts of stress. It’s amazing it works at all, and props to the people who make it work. The stories some of these people have are wild.
Seeing as Twitter is a bit bleak today, who’d like some swag?
- Figma logo hat
- Two pairs of white socks
- One pair of black cursor socks
- Limited edition stickers, NASA style
I’ll post anywhere in the world 🌎

The verified brand situation is getting out of control. Quick thread of twitter blue brands, and brands who might be pissed off at Elon right about now.
@gluonspring @the_shoe_yes Yeah, I’ve also seen zero calls for boycotts and lots of posts by advertising people saying that they don’t want to run ads next to antisemitic conspiracy theories or terrorist recruitment videos. Seems pretty clear-cut to me.
@papabearaz@TheLightSpeedz@VoronDesign There's a line to be walked, and I think OP went a bit overboard. Sucks, because I get that they were putting in the effort... but I also agree with the people who reviewed the post who said they couldn't actually see the printer printing.
@papabearaz@TheLightSpeedz@VoronDesign The FAQ says "We love it when people put more time and effort in to their request videos. Have a little fun with it. Don't make it a 10 second clip."
So they're OK with fluff and effects... But I tracked down OP's post, and it's hard to actually see the printer through the FX...
@makersmuse I have all the parts for mine in a box in the basement - too much sentimental value to get rid of it. 6in i3 with a Magma hotend (that would jam if you looked at it funny), and half-amp motors than ran hot as hell and screamed as loud at 16x microstepping. Good times.
@shingworks I really don’t envy all the artists like you for whom cons are a big thing. Really a damned if you do, damned if you don’t scenario. All I can say is that sucks and I have no idea what the “right” choice is.
@titangamingTTV @Fokoos_Tech Not to be a negative nancy, but those "fluid motions" look more like low accels to me. Frantic jerky motion is what you want on a 3d printer - 300mm/s peak is meaningless if the accels are so low that it almost never gets up to that speed.
@brendonbuilds@usa_misumi Ugh I’m envious every time I see Americans post about how cheap misumi shipping is for them. S&H to Canada is nontrivial, and the domestic options are nowhere near as good. I wish we had a misumi outlet up here…
New York City is like Linux:
- Spend the first year re-learning how to perform basic tasks
- Spend the rest of your lifetime claiming how much better it is
- Bad drivers
