It’s going to take time to sort through what happened Tuesday. But I've read a lot of takes the past few days (some good, many bad), and I've had a lot of people ask how I won one of the toughest districts in the country by over 13%.
Here are some thoughts: 🧵
To everyone who is afraid of what happens next, I share your fears. But what we do next is important.
We have to learn from what happened. And then, make a plan. As we confront a second Trump presidency, here’s a path forward: 🧵
@ItsNeeksYeah@TranyeWest And I hear that that’s a cop out of sorts. ‘Well of I was this or that, then I’d do it” but I have been happily married to my partner for 15 years with 3 kids. We both are highly active in community organizing. He flew to Pittsburgh to knock on doors. He is not my oppressor 🤷♀️
@BlackKnight10k Same way the North Carolina governor race (and AG and SOS) went Democrat, while Trump won the Presidential election. Same way a Republican governor won in Vermont while the state went for Harris. This happens all the time.
@joncoopertweets@keyacgomes Okay I get the sentiment, but also it’s the first time I have felt authentically hopeful in weeks, so I shan’t be ignoring it though
