Democratic Bloc views with great concern the undemocratic plans by YP HQ to create a tightly-controlled official branch (the first ever) in the Isle of Wight.
To find out why we think this and what you can do about it: https://t.co/xPTqIRIbHd
so so proud of everything over the last 2 years, and grateful for everyones support- especially after leaving Labour.
we have a tough battle ahead, but the fight for socialism continues. solidarity, always ✊
If you think members in Scotland only left because of the elections - which they voted to stand in by the way - you have bigger problems than I thought.
@Sam_Gorst Sam, this wasn't a democratic vote. Members were only given 2 options, a total ban and a white-list, and haven't been consulted at all about banning the groups The Many group has set itself out to ban.
The Chair of Your Party @Jen4TruroAndFal decided they did not like an amendment that had been passed by the whole CEC, despite their faction holding a voting majority.
They then decided to unilaterally overturn it.
It is difficult to see how this is not a dictatorship.
A report from me on today's meeting, including significant concerns about the paper which passed on Dual Membership.

@NiallChristie1 Sat on Labours NEC for duration of Starmers time in opposition chaired by the worst of the right, opposed proscription of 7 organisations & the purge of Corbyn and the left, been part of walk outs but never has a Chair behaved in this way as you describe. Solidarity
We join DSYP in their appeal to the CEC to oppose this motion to expel socialist groups from Your Party.
This is supposed to be a new party of the left, pluralistic, democratic and member-led and it is simply descending into a Labour 2.0 ruled by a cabal.
@thisisyourparty@jeremycorbyn
Now is the time to bring the socialist movement together not to begin bans and expulsions.
Statement from socialist organisation who have helped build Your Party 👇
That vision was there when 800,000 initially signed up, but it has undoubtedly been narrowed by some at the top of YP.
Counterfire will not remain in a party that expels socialists and, if the motion should pass on Sunday, we will immediately leave.
When elected CEC members decide to lay the blame for all the problems in the party on a slate that has 0/8 Officer's Group seats, it's a sign that they plan to accept absolutely no accountability for their mistakes.
Childish and churlish from a supposed independent.
DemBloc calls on the Your Party CEC to hold an all-member vote to adopt an official party position that Zionism is Racism. Your Party can achieve what the Greens failed to do, if we give the members a voice.
