It's encouraging to see young people taking a stand and protesting for their rights. Their courage and determination are a testament to the power of activism. I believe it's reassuring that we've been able to build a culture where standing up for our rights is valued and encouraged. I call for the immediate release of arrested protesters Shimaan and Mahzoom, who are exercising their fundamental right to peaceful assembly and free speech.
Shocking misuse of power in Maldivian’s Cadet Pilot ATR recruitment. @ameen3d youngest son, Dhain Ameen, was selected through a rigged process that robbed more deserving candidates. Here’s how:
The recruitment process is tough. Applicants go through a competitive theoretical + IQ exam. Out of 56+ candidates, only the top 10 move to the final interview. Just 3 get selected in the end.
But Dhain had an unfair advantage he had access to the exam paper before the test. Multiple witnesses saw his brother, Dhaniyal Ameen (an employee at Maldivian with HR connections), carrying the papers to their home on Nov 24, 2024 the day before the exam.
The test was on Nov 25. Unsurprisingly, Dhain topped it and was selected for the interview. At that point, the job was practically his. To avoid suspicion, interviewees were split to morning & evening so Dhain wouldn’t be seen by everyone.
This is deeply unfair. Every candidate who made it to the final stage earned their place. They deserved a fair shot. But Dhain’s path was paved in privilege and protected by influence.
This isn’t just nepotism it’s corruption. It’s a betrayal of trust. And it must be investigated. The public deserves answers. Corruption and misuse of power in every area.
