Hello Twitter! I'm DemonDHarris, Long time gamer, fan of variety/challenge. Ex G2PO Community Staff & NGT Site Moderator. Now just a dude on the internet.
The paradox of narcissism:
They claim: ‘I’m above everyone. I don’t need anyone.’
But their behavior reveals: ‘I need constant validation that I’m above everyone.’
There’s a difference. And that difference is where the need lives.
Why They Need People:
1) Validation: The superiority only feels real if someone witnesses it. Without an audience, it’s just an internal story.
2) Supply: They need emotional fuel. Attention. Admiration. Outrage. Any reaction that keeps them the center of focus.
3) Control: They need someone to be below them. Without someone to dominate, where’s the proof of superiority?
4) Mirror: They need someone to reflect their importance back. Without that reflection, they’re just a person alone with their thoughts.
5) Contrast: They need someone to be ‘less than’ so they can be ‘more than.’
The Paradox:
If they were truly superior, they wouldn’t need any of this. Truly superior people don’t need validation. Don’t need an audience. Don’t need to dominate. But narcissists need all of it. Constantly. Desperately. That need proves: the superiority is not real. It’s a construction. And constructions require maintenance.
Without People:
Without people to validate, control, or impress, without the audience for the performance, the narcissist has to face something unbearable: themselves.
Without the mask in front of witnesses, without the supply, without the control, they have to sit with the emptiness underneath. And that’s the one thing they cannot do.
The Final Truth:
They claim superiority so they don’t have to admit dependence. But their desperate need for people proves they’re completely dependent. On validation. On supply. On an audience for the performance.
The superiority is the mask. The need is the reality.
@_MissClick_ It's almost as if the people who claimed to have played these games just went through mashing buttons with their brain switched off or something. How can people be so blinded when it comes to the story and characters?
As long time GoW fan and mythology nerd, I am beyond excited.
Faye
- A frost Giant, formally known as Laufey the Just
- Stayed in Midgard as the "Last Guardian" to actively fight Odin and the Aesir gods
- Brok and Sindri forged the Leviathan Axe specifically for her to counter Thor's hammer
- Actually fought Thor, a fight that shattered a valley and froze lightning in the sky
- Nearly killed Kratos when they first met, a fight that ended in a stand still
- She orchestrated her family's entire journey before she died, including the events that led to Atreus realisation that he was Loki

She already is a damn protagonist! Game looks fucking awesome!
I get that people are disappointed over Destiny, but, like... it's getting a bit weird. The Twitch and YT chats for the State of Play stream were full of Destiny spam. Then almost any official posts relating to either SGF or PS I'll scroll replies and see just walls of this:
Gaming discourse has become unbearable.
A game gets announced and suddenly thousands of people act like they're the CEO of the company.
You like it? Buy it.
You don't like it? Move on.
What nobody asked for is the endless whining, harassment, and demands that studios change their games just to satisfy your personal preferences.
Not every game is made for you.
If a game doesn't interest you, close the tab, keep scrolling, and let the people who are excited enjoy it.
The obsession with attacking developers, studios, and creative decisions is far more annoying than any game announcement ever could be.

@ManaByte Honestly 100%, I didn't dislike Atreus but those sections started to drag a little. I wouldn't mind a small Atreus spin-off or side-DLC but not a full fledged title. To officially see they're going down the Faye route instead is such a relief, I'm so hyped.
The gaming industry is not without it's glaring faults, but honestly it's a really good time to be a gamer. I still miss the days of prime E3 but experiencing these showcases still to this day brighten my mood and remind me how much I just fucking love gaming.
@asfcarpino I am so moist, and as a mythology nerd just seeing Sekhmet and Begtse in the same scene for example, and all the other smaller details that I picked up on has me excited for what else we could possible expect.
God of War Laufey, OH MY FUCKIN' GOD. Yes, it looks fantastic. I'm interested where they seem to be going here, and the combat looks delicious. I'm curious to see what other characters will show their face.
Well, that was a very close one and a little big hectic for my newbie skills and slow old man brain. But, these ice gloves are pretty sweet and it was nice to pick them up for once, glad to have won with them too.
This honestly sounds horrific, ngl. The fact you can deactivate it though would be perfect, pretty sure most the streamers I know are turning this off day 1 xD
I know not many use T2/T3, but even so, being in a chat with this enabled does not sound like a fun time.

@JackoTjk@JonRhodesUK Yeah, I feel like narcissists are quite impulsive because they're slaves to ego and image. Meanwhile sociopaths are due to emotion in particular (someone can of course be both).
It's their kryptonite in some ways, their impulses can make them predictable when you get to know.
