A big congratulations to our Dene brothers and sisters in Manitoba. The Seal River Watershed Initiative is big and bold and that is the climate action we need in this country! 🙌🏼
The Seal River Watershed spans over 50,000 square kilometres – roughly the size of Nova Scotia.

Live from the @CBD_COP15 Canada Pavilion: @s_guilbeault is announcing the First Nations National Guardians Network. This first of its kind (in the world!) initiative will help protect #lands & waters, & connect Guardians from coast to coast to coast. @land_guardians
As #COP15 kicks off, we want to highlight #Indigenous-led #conservation in Canada: @DenaKayeh is proposing an IPCA to protect one of the largest intact landscapes in B.C, called Dene K’éh Kusān. Learn how it will support healing, create economic opportunity, & sustain the land.
Support for the Kaska vision to protect Dene K’éh Kusān has drawn support from many corners of the province. On Monday night, we were thrilled to host leaders & allies from the BC government, including the Hon. @Josie_Osborne, Minister of Land, Water & Resource Stewardship.
During the event, @gillianstaveley shared that “We know that protecting 40,000 square kilometres is a big ask. But it is an even bigger opportunity. It’s an opportunity for British Columbia to share a hopeful, optimistic & bold vision."
We had a terrific time last night at the premiere of Dene K’éh Kusān, Always Will Be There. The film shines a spotlight on Kaska stewardship and our vision to protect the heart of our traditional territory in BC.
@Becky_Maps We will be planning some in-person viewings in the near future, but in the meantime, anyone can access it on our website @ https://t.co/hBxvlUkB9U
We are excited to be hosting the premiere of our brand-new film tonight in Victoria! The film - Dena K’éh Kusān - Always Will Be There, is a story about our connection to our land – and our plan to protect it for future generations.
Dene K’éh Kusān is the largest intact tract of land and water in BC, and the richness of this landscape will capture your imagination. Journey into this place in our new film and discover why we are leading an initiative to protect it.
