@autismsupsoc I hope this dog's person gave it some nice real bacon afterwards with the proceeds of the viral video! Also I hope this dog's person gave it some nice real bacon anyway, it is clearly in raptures.
@TRyanGregory The ironic thing is that if we still ALSO believed in the miasma theory instead of going "hand washing helps some things so hand washing has to be the ONLY thing that helps anything, we can all ignore the air forever now," we'd have been better off believing 2 things at once.
Im also glad to be doing two sessions on #AccessibleGaming with three very talented folks who are accessibility designers and disabled gamers of several varieties. If you'd like to join the conversation, check out the Games on Demand Online workshops.
Very disappointed that GenCon canceled their online event. There are thousands of #disabledgamers, international gamers, and busy adults who can't afford travel to Indy.
Games on Demand Online is free for everyone next weekend. You're welcome with us. https://t.co/p5WdFj60Ix
@TinyWriterLaura If you have access to a rice cooker with keep warm, donburi are "bowl of rice with whatever topping you like" and onigiri are "whatever you like in the middle of sushi rice inside a seaweed wrap" aka superfast portable sushi :) canned tuna and furikake sprinkles are fast too!
@sutherlasu @Friesein@Justanewsletter Our local health department has completely stopped offering vaccination appointments and is referring everyone to pharmacies. One of the two local doctor groups also won't offer vaccinations because they couldn't get enough supply. The uninsured are left out in the cold.
@TRyanGregory I wish for a future in which you don't need to make one of your "No one could have foreseen this" posts daily or multiple times a day. But I'm honestly more confident that Twitter will finish its muskrat-aided implosion before that happens...
@1goodtern Physically disabled and lost several decades-long friends who've died of COVID, so there's some daily reminders that it's real and I can't afford to get worse.
@stopthatgirl7 High Contrast will also color flip photos, it gets pretty weird seeing people with blue and green skin and glowing black teeth. But I'm the sort whose light sensitivity means I need dark mode a lot of the time, so I use it a lot on glaring-white-bkg sites myself...
@stopthatgirl7 (long distance digital hugs and much sympathy on the light sensitivity)
Are you a Chrome person? If yes, there's a plugin called High Contrast that lets you color-invert nearly anything on the web. So you could re-invert the dark mode inversion?
@SpielMill@Gen_Con I've been trying since February's Games on Demand Online Winter Games session (which I'm hoping to run again, and if you want to recruit some board game folks for the "GenCon is half a year away and everyone needs something to look forward to in Feb" event, that would be great!
@SpielMill@Gen_Con I'm trying to cheerlead for indie games too, but I think we maxed out around a dozen Games on Demand proposals. I just don't have the connections (or the spare energy) to shake all the bushes. I'd love more ideas for how to get more game runners interested...
@SpielMill @isotriajayne I would love to chat adaptations! Also for cards have you seen StorySynth? I love it. I'm facilitating three sessions about accessible gaming at GenCon Online and two of them are free, if you happen to be available then?
