@michaelshermer This is total rubbish. The 1997 report never says conclusively it was Project Mogul (and indeed the dates of the suspected lost balloon do not line up). That’s cos there are zero records that confirm it - which u think there would be if it was the truth, why destroy them?

There are many potential factors that need to be taken into account eg. compartmentalisation. If you’re relying on personal anecdotes u should say.

Im going full conspiracy theorist it’s what Spielberg would want but that bird silhouette looks to me like a cardinal, and i guess there is a belief that ‘cardinals’ is an unofficial code name for UFOs in the Air Force…. hmm makes you think….
