Why the Government has let teachers and more importantly students down by neglecting to plan, communicate or show any sense of understanding their needs.
@radiokamikaze Yeah, there's some great shouts there. I wanted just to go on a mad spree so I banned myself from playing any tracks I already knew! Hope yr good m8.

You were thinking... What would make friday night in lockdown work better?
It's obviously alphabetic playlist of really obscure music with the names of League One teams in the track titles.
OBVIOUSLY.
I can't believe this isn't viral yet.

@RoyCalley I was in turkey once in my shirt and a guy gave me thumbs up and said "Matthews" with a big grin, then bought me a drink!
Modern premier league fans try to engage you by talking about Holloway.
People in general have a vague sense of Oyston as a scoundrel.

Blackpool beat Liverpool, then Liverpool beat Blackpool reserves. All in all, everyone's a winner and our first 11 are the best in the country.
I think we're just one bit of experience away from being really, really good.

Mental how pandemics have happened through human history but in the 21st century we can't handle our own vulnerability so have to create a narrative that it's 'manmade' so maintaining our belief that we're above nature. That's wot I think. Counter argument probably 'google it'
@IzzyNicholson@profbeckyallen Answer - 'we can't know because agnosticism is the only logical position to take (certainty there is or isn't a god is faith) and if the exam board is awarding marks for anything other than logic, then what sort of secular system is that?'
THIS is why I got mediocre grades lol
@IzzyNicholson@profbeckyallen Aye, I doubt they'll hold it against me. I think I'm doing that 'teacher as god' thing we all do when we think 'I should have foreseen X'
Personally, I'm all for exam reform. This is not quite what I had in mind tho!
@IzzyNicholson@profbeckyallen It's not difficult, it's just much safer to give them a past paper because it's 100% going to be in the style, language and so on of the exam board.
Plus as a teacher, you then have an *actual* mark scheme, not your own, so you can say 'this is exam board stuff' to da yoot...
@IzzyNicholson@profbeckyallen But suggesting they are somehow equal to the actual test is madness. They were never intended for that. I spend ages telling mine 'look, this is the exam you can make the mistakes in' cos they get really worked up about them.
Now I feel like a complete liar.
@IzzyNicholson@profbeckyallen You can do that when you've confidence in the format of q's but with new exams, it's risky and the current a-levels are young.
Tbh, I don't think there's any problem with 'mock exams' per se. For some kids, just learning the format of the paper or realising it's hard is point..
@IzzyNicholson@profbeckyallen Most teachers will use past papers as well, which are available. Even if you don't *know* the q's it's probably one you could have seen before.
@tes@GavinWilliamson Reactive policy making on the hoof. In contrast with the careful, robust, methodical approach that many schools took in generating honest centre assess grades. Few studs. do better in mocks than exams so this doesn’t really have impact other than undermine credibility further! 🤷♂️
