I love this paradox. At Dentsu our vision is to create the “never before” and we realize daily that this does not require only high tech investment but more practically creatively looking at the current world and finding what’s hidden in front of us. # creativity
My favorite paradox:
Humans put a man on the moon -- before they put wheels on luggage.
The smartest minds of a generation all carried their luggage...
Einstein, Edison, and Tesla all carried their luggage.
Neil Armstrong carried his luggage on the way to NASA's HQ.
Why?
The first patent was registered in 1970 by Bernard Sadow.
Despite this, it didn't take off until 1989 -- when pilot Robert Plath created the Rollaboard.
Humanity suddenly woke up from this collective hypnosis and realized how obvious it was.
-----
1. Mimetic Thinking
Nobody saw the obvious idea -- because nobody else saw it.
Working from first principles requires cognitive RAM.
Your brain outsources thinking to other people because it's energy efficient.
2. The Simple Idea Hidden In Plain Sight
Peter Thiel said the best stock pick of the last decade would've just been buying FAANG and hold.
No hedge fund did this.
Why?
They wanted to appear smart.
People were spending their lives trying to design flying cars before we put wheels on luggage.
3. Where is luggage without wheels in 2023?
If you want a sleepless night, ask yourself that question before bed.
What simple idea is everyone ignoring in 2023 because everyone else is ignoring it?

79 years today. If you’ve never visited Normandy I highly recommend. God bless all those hero’s. Let’s pray the world never must see another day like June 6, 1944 or August 6, 1945. Pray for peace and the resolve to avoid war.
In 1959, 9yo Ronald McNair was told he couldn't check out his books from Lake City's segregated library. He went on to become Karate champion, earned an MIT PhD in physics, and became a NASA astronaut.
Today that library is named after him.

Now they're leading the Broncs into the NCAA Tournament.

Very interesting white paper on customer loyalty. I wonder if giving away our thinking is ultimately in our interest but Merkle and thewhole Dentsu group has a wealth of IP in these areas. It is hard for insiders to keep track of what we know Will post here the most interesting

Good luck to Linda in her new role.Only met her a few times but always impressed. She should embrace the “Velvet Hammer” nickname. Never forget that there is nothing so strong in this world as persistent gentleness and nothing so gentle as true strength https://t.co/0cQy7uIbw9

The First Amendment bars the government from deciding for us what is true or false, online or anywhere.

I’m not sure understand the argument for a windfall profits tax on energy companies. If you reduce profitability, you will discourage investment which is the opposite of our objective.
