CHERRY CREEK TRAIL ALERT | May 20: The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers will conduct the annual sediment flush of Cherry Creek Reservoir, with water flows expected to flood low areas of trail throughout the day. https://t.co/ogw6Cr6rA6
The annual Cherry Creek Dam sediment flush happening NOW, May 20, until early afternoon. Expect high water and flooded trail sections along Cherry Creek into the evening. Stay safe—follow the detour. @denverparksrec and @DenverDOTI
@Furytheoddity@DenverPolice Nope, nothing like that.
If there were a real threat, your phone alert would clearly tell you what’s going on and exactly what to do.
Denver, it’s going to be a hot one today.
Temperatures are expected to hit around 90° by 3 PM, and that’s when heat can really start to take a toll on your body.
Heat is more than just uncomfortable. It can become dangerous quickly, especially for kids, older adults, pets, and anyone spending time outside.
Keep an eye out for signs like dizziness, heavy sweating, nausea, or feeling weak.
A few simple ways to stay safe today:
💧 Drink water throughout the day
🧊 Take breaks in the shade or head indoors when you can
👕 Wear light, breathable clothing
🚗 Never leave kids or pets in a car
If you can, check in on someone who might need help staying cool.
Let’s take care of each other, Denver ☀️

The sirens aren’t telling you to prepare for something specific in that moment. They’re meant as a general warning system for people who are outdoors. If they go off during a real emergency, the next step is to go inside and check official sources for more information.
In this case, it was just a test to make sure both the sirens and phone alerts work when they’re actually needed.
Appreciate you asking
