Generative AI as far as I know, literally does rely on butt loads of training data to shit stuff out.
Could an AI invent cathedrals if they never existed? So far I'm not convinced.

AI isn't inherently bad but all these people determined to just turn off their brains and leave it to AI are a powder keg waiting to blow.

@Spirited__Smile I use LLMs for translation at work. They aren't inherently bad but as usual, it's no reason to let your guard down.

Once Copilot decided to hallucinate and mixed Korean within a EN->JP translation.

There's also like translating software names literally instead of using katakana

Sure there are people who can use it responsibly, but most people just act like this borrowed ability is their own.
