@RameshBotha@GambelerQuail Placing the animals in a bag allowed detachment from the killing and was considered the humane way to euthanize animals in the past. The chore was often given to older children.
@RameshBotha@GambelerQuail 1949 Tom and Jerry episode, "Heavenly Puss", is the episode that references the practice of drowning kittens in a sack. Modern, affordable, and safe surgical sterilization for pets did not become widespread or commercially routine until the 1960s and 1970s.
@RameshBotha@GambelerQuail My Nan personally drowned a bag of kittens as a kid. It was so common it was joked about in animations of the era. Cats breed a LOT and people used to get rid of them by putting them in a sack and drowing them. Excess puppies were crushed to death with rocks.
@warandnoise@GRdotGIF You have not seen variants since the PS1 days, so dishonest. No fucking flash games like this either. Prove me wrong, find one example. A puzzle game built around Bézier curve controls passing through points.
@spiralriku@VelocityVGC It's objectively more complex than chess mathematically. I would say Chess is more difficult to play for humans though. The simple fact is that we have super human chess bots but no super human Pokémon AI.
@Cementimental@NateFloofs Not this tool. This isn't a finetune of a LLM or a modification of a diffusion model. This is a custom-made algorithm that does one thing.
@Gallus11B@adrianchm It seems like people are really underestimating how important the aesthetics of the game are. I would also add that it doesn't run very well, which is a double whammy that definitely kills games. Otherwise the gameplay is good enough to be successful. Sum of parts.
@dr_dave_ar@zelda@opengl Super impressive! Getting any rendering done already means a ton of work has been done converting all that PowerPC code and native gamecube graphics calls to openGL.
@meteosrds@mog_russEN Pyrite isn't heavy, also the black sand with the gold is a good indicator that it is real gold. The black sand is magnetite and hematite.
@Peaked1nterest@DrewSav Lab grown meat is a cell slurry grown in bio reactors. Unfortunately, bio reactors are not great for growing food. Any contamination and the cells die, wrong food they die, no cleaning they die in their own excrement. Cells are hard to culture without a body.
