If edgerunners s1 followed a solo and a netrunner, I hope s2 follows two other types of cyberpunk classes. This character looks like they might be a media, but who would they get paired with?
they r giving character actors from netflix shows 6 figure deals to walk around a blue screen and recite aaron sorkin dialogue at raid shadow legends assets and you want me to treat gaming like a real art form for serious people
@haalaphrodyke I need to know what "giving the fans what they want" you're talking about here. Do you mean the reactive changes they seemed to make after each movie in the trilogy, making it incoherent thematically? Because that was just the company knee-jerking to criticism without thinking.
@Matan_Vilensky Oh, I’m not saying it’s good becuase of a lack of references. There are a ton of great references to the old ttrpg games that really helped the worldbuilding. I suppose my gripe is that many new entries rely on cameos for audience investment rather than tight character writing.
What I find funny about this argument is they think it was a lack of nostalgia that led to backlash against the Disney projects. “No you wanted cameos and glup shittos and now they’re there and it’s bad” no we wanted good writing and captivating characters, still don’t have it.
What is so funny about “The Mandalorian and Grogu” is that the people screaming “sTaR wArS iS rUiNeD!” are those who got exactly what they wanted.
Fan service, references, extended universe nonsense in continuity, surgical amputation of any artistic perspective.
Enjoy, guys!
@ShawnNOrlando But if Finn realizes all of it was useless, why does that not motivate his future actions at all? He only seems even more galvanized to fight for the resistance after this scene, to the point where he's willing to sacrifice himself to give the hunkered down resistance a chance.
@Tubzbuster Its because Sony genuinely thought they had a "Star Wars" level franchise on their hands and spent a morbillion dollars on its development, and it was awful. Concord became the shorthand for the incompetence and disconnect with the customer that's become prevalent in the industry
@Theasianavenger I think the difference here is that the top cards are tounge-in cheek references that fit the theme of the plane they are from. The bottom pictures are just crossovers. Pure and simple nostalgia/pop culture pandering, and an entire set based around that concept puts people off.
