I was honored to be a Declaration of Independence reader at the Catholic War Veterans St.Michael's Post 1562 Celebration of Independence Day event at the Derby Green.
It was a great reminder of the sacrifices that our forefathers made to ensure that we were a free nation.

And that’s a wrap!!! Last day of A Day in 1762 program has come to an end for this school year! This year was challenging, but we got through like we always do! (Not pictured is Mistress Maria) Until Fall, now time to enjoy the summer.
The Derby-Shelton parade was one for the books today! We represented the Past, Present and the Future of History. The kids were troopers as it did rain on our parade, but we honored those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
Thank you to all those who donated to the Derby Historical Society during the Great Give. We appreciate the critical support in helping us fulfill our mission of preserving, maintaining, and celebrating the rich and varied history of the Lower Naugatuck River Valley.
I had a great time as usual talking about the @DerbyHistorical Society and so many other Derby topics including the @CTRailCouncil, the @Waterburyline, the Derby Board of Education and the upcoming state representative race in the 104th with the @ValleyIndy.
