After being at AmericaFest, I find myself to be quite sad. I am an optimist at heart, but to be honest I am struggling with the state of our nation and the state of the Republican Party.

I want the best for our country, but that can never happen if we continue on the trajectory that we are on right now and that’s the harsh truth.

The “conservative movement” has been quickly shifting in the wrong direction for a while now and it’s deeply concerning and it is deeply disturbing me. To be honest, I am actually on the verge of tears writing this.

I often refer to Scripture in everything that I do. I am a Christian. I’m a follower of Jesus. I want to do everything I can to glorify Christ. Obviously, I am human, and I often fall short but thankfully Christ has forgiven me.

A passage that I quote often is Isaiah 5:20. “Woe unto you who call evil good and good evil. Who put darkness for light and light for darkness. Who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”

When I refer to this passage, it is often in conversations discussing the evils that we can all clearly see from the left. I have begun to realize that this needs to become a conversation that the right has about itself.

I often see people say things like “I will be a republican until the day Jesus is no longer put first in the Republican Party.”

Well… it is clear to me that Jesus is not first in the Republican Party or the movements that are adjacent or similar to it.

We have traded Christlikeness for unchristlikeness.

We have traded selflessness for selfishness.

We have traded kindness for cruelty to each other.

We have traded honesty for dishonesty towards each other.

We have traded peace for violence towards each other.

We have traded being compassionate for being uncompassionate to each other.

We have traded being merciful to being unmerciful to each other.

We have traded humility for pridefulness.

We have traded love for hate.

After Charlie was murdered, we saw peace and tranquility but only for a short time. I believe we saw that because for a moment, so many of us were committed to deep prayer for this country.

But since then, it seems as if we have devolved faster than I could have ever imagined.

We must reverse course. We must change. We must stop this direction that we are heading or we will lose this nation that we all love.

This is not just for MAGA.

This is not just for America Firsters.

This is not just for followers of Charlie Kirk.

This is not just for followers of Candace Owens.

This is not just for followers of Nick Fuentes.

This is not just for followers of Tucker Carlson.

This is for everyone.

The change doesn’t start with the person that you can’t stand and think is a fraud. The change starts with you.

It starts with a self introspection by saying I REPENT.

It starts by releasing your own hatred first.

It starts by releasing your own pride first.

It starts by releasing your own cruelty first.

Our nation will not become the nation that we want it to be if we do not start with ourself first repenting.

When Nehemiah heard that the walls of Jerusalem were broken down, he knelt and repented of HIS OWN SIN FIRST.

This is what we must do.

I REPENT. FATHER FORGIVE ME.

Our country needs Jesus.

Jesus, please help us.

Today we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is a real event of history.

He is RISEN!

Skeptical? Here are 10 irrefutable historical facts that show the resurrection of Christ is real:

1) Jesus of Nazareth was crucified under Pontius Pilate.

This is one of the most agreed upon facts of ancient history. Pagan historians like Tacitus, Jewish chroniclers like Josephus, and early Christian sources all converge: Jesus was publicly executed by Roman authority.

No credible historian—Christian or atheist—denies it. The cross was not a theological metaphor; it was a state-sanctioned death penalty, delivered with maximum shame and finality.

2) He was buried in a known, accessible tomb.

The Gospels name Joseph of Arimathea, a wealthy member of the Jewish council, as the man who buried Jesus. If this were a fabrication, using a public figure easily investigated by enemies would be self-defeating.

The early Christian creed in 1 Corinthians 15, dated by scholars like James D.G. Dunn to within 5 years of the crucifixion, affirms the burial. This isn’t myth. It’s memory.

3) The tomb was discovered empty by women.

In ancient Jewish society, a woman’s testimony was considered unreliable in court. If the resurrection story were invented, placing women at the center of the discovery would be absurd.

The only reason to report this detail is because it actually happened.

4) Christianity’s fiercest enemies became its loudest witnesses.

Paul (a Pharisee and persecutor) and James (Jesus’ skeptical brother) both claimed to have seen the risen Christ—and their lives were permanently, painfully reoriented.

Paul lost his power and prestige. James abandoned his former doubt and was stoned to death for proclaiming his brother as Lord. What changed them? Not a metaphor. A real encounter with the risen Christ.

5) The disciples were psychologically and morally transformed.

Before the resurrection, they fled, denied, and hid. Afterward, they stood in synagogues and before emperors declaring Jesus as Lord, knowing it would cost them everything.

They didn’t gain wealth or comfort. They gained whips, prisons, and martyrdom. Men don’t die for what they know is a lie—and they had every opportunity to recant.

6) Over 500 people saw Jesus alive—at once.

This is not folklore. Paul documents it in 1 Corinthians 15, saying “most are still alive,” effectively daring his readers to investigate.
Mass hallucinations do not happen to diverse individuals across multiple locations, including skeptics and enemies, over 40 days.

7) The resurrection was proclaimed immediately—not centuries later.
Unlike legends that slowly evolve, the resurrection was preached within weeks in the very city where Jesus was executed.
The early creed embedded in Paul’s letters wasn’t developed by theologians in ivory towers—it was carried in the mouths of fishermen, tax collectors, and former zealots who had seen something they couldn’t unsee.

8) The message launched from Jerusalem—the least convenient location.

If the tomb still had a body in it, Christianity would have been instantly crushed. The Romans and Jewish leaders had every incentive to expose the hoax.

But they couldn’t. Because there was no body to show. And from the epicenter of that threat, the gospel spread like wildfire.
If Jesus was dead, why not show the corpse and end the Christian movement?

9) No natural explanation fits the data.

Stolen body? Then the disciples died for a con they created.

Hallucination? Group sightings, physical contact, and shared meals contradict that.

Legend? There wasn’t time—eyewitnesses were still alive and correcting error.

Only one explanation covers it all: Jesus physically, bodily, historically rose from the dead.

10) The risen Christ continues to change lives today.

Every man I had sex with when I was 14 knew I was 14 beforehand.

LGBTQ culture has no socially imposed boundaries on it. They don't police themselves. They are too consumed with protecting their political causes and shaming rightwing bigots.

Teen sex work is the norm in LGBTQ centers.

Trans icons glamorize being prostitutes as teens and it's viewed as a rite of passage.

13 - 17 year olds are a high HIV risk group.

Progressives view children as sexual beings and independent from their parents.

This is a culture, one protected from scrutiny.

LGBTQ people matter.

Their lives are valuable.

They are creatures of God, created in His image.

Many have been abused, derided, assaulted, or worse. Often they have been persecuted for being gay, mocked, and ridiculed.

Some have been castigated in churches by people with porn addictions, adulterous affairs, or 3rd marriages, as if being gay is the only sexual sin worthy of damnation.

Others are strangers to their family, treated as if they don’t exist.

These things are wrong and sinful. These people deserve respect and kindness. Far too many have been abused. No Christian should support cruelty toward gays.

After all, Jesus died for their sins on the cross.

It is also true that no Christian can wish them happy pride month.

Despite the cruelty of the world to LGBTQ individuals, their sexual proclivities are still listed as sins in the Bible. And those who unrepentantly practice these sins will not see heaven.

“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 ESV

Notice that this is also true of other sins, too, and straight people aren’t immune to judgment, nor are the greedy or the party crowd.

But there is good news!

And such “were” some of you!

The church of Corinth had LGBTQ members who repented of their sins and became heaven bound believers! This means that in Jesus, there is hope! And Jesus clearly loved all, gay or straight.

This means that ANYONE can repent, believe, and become a new creation in Christ.

You see, I was also a sinner, and my sins would take me to hell just like those of a gay person. I’m not better than anyone. I deserve nothing less than damnation.

But Jesus had other plans. Just like He has for you!

LGBTQ community, I cannot wish happy pride, because I love people enough to know that none of us can die in our sins.

But I can wish you something much greater: Jesus loves you even now, and died for every sin you’ve done. You can repent and believe the gospel, and your past sins will never again define you.

I pray that you find the only identify that matters, which is your identity in Christ. I wish you peace, health, safety, and joy.

And I respect you enough to tell you the biblical truth of scripture instead of easy to swallow platitudes.
