It turns out the great egg price increase that helped topple Joe Biden's presidency was <checks notes> due to an alleged conspiracy among egg producers to artificially increase prices and the coverage of that fact is a blink-and-you-miss-it story on the NYT website 🙃
“Pierre Poilievre was Housing Minister in Stephen Harper’s Conservative government, which allowed 800,000 affordable rental units to be sold off to corporate landlords and developers. Under Harper, the average home price in Canada went up 70%, and Poilievre refused to do anything about it.”
No they won’t. The tech oligarchs are the most useless set of elites imaginable. No set of rich people in American history have been as useless a drain on society as they have
Meta illegaly downloaded 80+ terabytes of books from LibGen, Anna's Archive, and Z-library to train their AI models.
Aaron Swartz downloaded 70 GBs of articles from JSTOR (0.0875% of Meta) in 2010. Faced $1 million in fine and 35 years in jail. Took his own life in 2013.
Nothing to see here, folks. Just a billionaire hosting a private party for the President and Acting Attorney General while his massive media merger is under review at the Justice Department, it's not a REAL scandal like Hunter Biden selling some of his paintings. 🙄
The Canucks don’t have a hockey problem. They have an ownership problem.
Since 2013: multiple GMs, multiple coaches, multiple culture resets. Same results.
The one constant? Ownership.
The Tampa blueprint everyone wants — young GM, young coach, patient rebuild, strong draft infrastructure — only works if the owner hires the right people and gets out of the way.
Jeff Vinik did that in Tampa. That ownership style is as much a part of those Cup runs as Cooper and BriseBois.
Aquilini has never shown he can do that.
You can’t hire your way out of an ownership problem.

If Mark Carney wants to ever utter the words "cultural sovereignty" again (and who knows, maybe he doesn't), then the Liberals cannot allow Hollywood to steamroll over the Online Streaming Act/Bill C-11.
Trump didn’t offer a single word of condolence or concern for Canada after a horrific mass shooting but is back to attacking them online over trade. Trump is historically unpopular in Americas and Europe. He’s right behind Putin as world’s most loathed man and he earned it all.
The reason there is no good journalism on the right, none out of the modern conservative movement, is that actual journalism would just undermine their political project at every turn. That's why this movement is dominated by pundits, Daily Wire/Townhall/RedState/Blaze/Fox News/Newsmax hot take sellers who give their *opinion*, which is so often wrong, and why they seethe when The New York Times or The Washington Post does some forensic analysis that blows up whatever dumb lie they're pushing on any given day. They don't want that. They want people like "Data Republican" and people who can't read like Nick Shirley as authority figures because it only helps them to dumb down the discourse.
