This is so poorly managed, I can’t believe it. People just wandering around trying to figure out where lines start. And then turning around to realize the line starts when you enter the airport BEFORE the departure desks.
So @INDairport…how is it possible to think that travelers are supposed to figure out these lines and queuing? I’ve never seen unmanaged, self-queuing lines, that are hundred, literally HUNDREDS of yards long. And the lines start as soon as one enters the terminal. I’m baffled.
@TrafficWise I just drove past this and both EB and WB were backed up. EB is backed up for almost 2 miles. There were three people and a dog in the median. 2 of the 3 people did not look well and one was almost wandering into the WB lanes.
In October of 1879, the #Illini played their first intercollegiate baseball game, as they defeated Illinois College 12-5.
Since then, the program has had:
🔸 264 All-Big Ten selections
🔹 51 All-Americans
🔸 139 players selected in the @MLB draft
#HTTO
It’s been a long time since I’ve fist-pumped from the couch while watching baseball. I just did as Carlos Rodon closed out his no-no. He was one filthy slider away from being perfect. #Major#whitesox
Adam Miller hits a 3 for the #Illini.
Raftery: “If it becomes Miller Time...
(I thought he was going to reference Reggie since they are in @TheFieldhouse. Nope.)
...”A LOT of people are going to be happy.”
Of course he went to an obscure booze reference. Hilarious.
@BaileyCarlin Good stuff. Love the analogy! I feel like my wallet maxes out at around $4 but sometimes I find two quarters in one of those rubber coin purse things. $4.50 is pretty good.
Friendly reminder:
Illinois officially named their football stadium Memorial Stadium in 1923. IU followed in 1960.
Illinois officially named their basketball arena Assembly Hall in 1963. IU followed in 1971.
First live football game since XFL Week 5. This is well orchestrated by the @Colts and the @NFL, but I miss orchestrating the #beersnake in DC with @RaelEnteen@stephrudnick @NashvilleSSPrez @khunzeker and our Commish.
Some say NFL games take too long. Yet both teams find a way to coordinate each play, communicate it to coaches and on-field players, and then execute within a 35 second play clock. 22 players move every play. I’m all for analytics but set the defense, call the pitch, play ball.
I love baseball. I love it as much as most but I’ll be the broken record. The pace of play is painful, especially in the later innings. 35-40 seconds between pitches with runners on base. Do the math. 3-4 innings, # of hitters, # of pitches. It makes me sad.
Baseball needs fans. Fans of all ages. These games will not attract new fans and may not even keep the current fans. Baseball can be beautiful but not without some sense of rhythm.
