Our coaching staff saw close to 30 HS games this weekend. One thing we all agreed was missing: passion.
Not fake, clout chasing, show up the opponent stuff. Genuine passion. Dudes that love to play the game and play it hard.
Want to get on our radar? Show us you love the game.
Competitive high school ball is a truth teller. Despite the “coach/politics” blame game, the kids who best help the team win get the playing time w/few exceptions.
You pay your summer team to be on the roster. Getting into the lineup is not validation that ur HS coach messed up.
Why do we have HS “showcases” during the HS baseball season?I’ve got 3 guys hurt because of “pulldowns” from a “showcase” in January. What are we doing? I’ve got 25 “showcases” coming up, it’s called my HS schedule!! “Showcase” your ass for 7 innings against quality competition.
Big congrats to the Durant Lady Lions! They are headed to state for the 7th year in a row! This team has lost several MAJOR players over the past two years... but here they are! It’s the mark of a great program! @DHSladylions@coachlittle88@DerrickHaworth@AbiGregory6
There are programs that DO teach winning baseball, no question about that....however, the emphasis on TEAM PRACTICE, has lessened each year..amateur players need team practice as often or more so than they need games, IMO.
