Okay. Time to set some new goals. With my WiP, I shouldn't call it my WIP, more like static words. Stalled work. Anyway it's at just under 200,000 words. I will finish it in the next year. There I committed my intent in public.
Today's my birthday. I opened my WIP and reflected on how little I had worked on it. If it wasn't on my laptop I would most likely be blowing the dust off it, and as the clouds of disappointment settled, I accepted that I had not met my writing goals I set myself.
Im close to completing my first epic novel and as I near the end, my imaginary line in the sand 180 000 words. I start think more and more about the new world Ive created, my new 'friends ' and my now book feels like a huge outline ; still valleys to be filled in. Deep ones
I read somewhere that 97% of all writers fail to complete their first book. This little nugget of information. Strangely motivated me to strive to be the 3% whom had completed their first novel.
