They aren't building every city a data center to help w grok asking to make cookies. That level of compute can be done on you own cell.
They are making data centers to store and sort the data on every living person on earth. Something both obvious and terrifying.
So the only reason to be okay with this is that, "if we dont they will." The fear that china will out smart the us in some horrifying future dystopia.
@ReviewsPossum People are bad at understanding the scale. 60k gallons is about 8k cubic feet. The 747 cabin is 20 ft wide. 6 and a half feet x 20 ft is over 8k cubic feet.
The jet is 240 ft long and in theory the fuel only needs 6.5 of that.
And yes they keep it in the wings.
@PlatypusX9 Slamin a runway is way way better than running out of runway. Oh and all that "extra runway" becomes important if you have a break system failure etc.
Float looks cool until it kills a bunch of people. Also float under ground effects is actually easy.
@cabisbee One of the few usefull purposes of the highly emotional low thought people is to barrel into a crowd of people pretending like they are more important than everyone else.
@jakeonrails Yup and the same people would lose thier shit when they find out what is actually going to happen to their power bill. Electric is production limited and no powerplant can be built anywhere nearly as fast as a data center.
@HardPass4 It's not that i want any person fleeing misdemeanor theft to be PITed, it's that i don't want every misdemeanor theft to turn into a 120 mph chase.
@gooner_2137@zachmoskow@MoonlitMaven@stripe We're talking about credit card transactions. Im in full agreement that for wires they should be 100% responsible. Most consumers dont want TOTP for every credit purchase.
Banks make more money moving money slowly. Most bank regs have a minimum speed not a max.
@Bit01010@more_meat_loaf Impeding the flow of traffic is a civil violation the same as speeding. Pos truckers blocking the flow encourage low talent losers to do stupid.
This is why lots of mtn/hills say no trucks in the left lane.
The truck doesn't have to be 51% or more at fault to not be a loser.
@TS_Secrets As someone having ai help w electronics right now.... it's a crapshoot. Also a 240v cap will kill you in ways that most people dont understand... i also 100% would do this.
Loading my revolver is the clunkiest thing. Im not sure my wife could do it without help. No step is super complicated but every step has a chance of minor glitch or hangup.
Vastly more complicated than a quick action drill.
Now hopefully the first 5 rounds of 44mag was enough.
@MrLeadslinger Look I dont think i have ever even shot my revolver but WHAT is the point if I cant do cowboy things with it?
(Gun was more of a debt settlement than purchase.)
10mm is min for bears, but a terrible ccw.
The data strongly was against the 9mm 25 yrs ago. Today they hot load the 9mm and it has almost no net negative vs the 45.
Penetration is a confusing thing. I can hit your chest with a brick that has more energy than a 22lr and 95% expect you to live but getting a 22 gut shot is likely fatal untreated.
@rahul Wow definitely not a sponsored news article. Tweeted by just some guy who loves the surveillance state. Sidhu just average American Joe. The 4th amendment is so annoying.
In a nice society sure, but in reality banks would see a massive increase in fraud. Id go on the dark web find stolen CCs numbers buy my own stuff and never ship it. Either it's never reported as fraud or it is and I still keep the money.
I sell coffee so this is a terrible fraud model but selling computers a $20k order isnt unreasonable.
@zachmoskow@MoonlitMaven@stripe How Zach thinks it works. "Sorry mr bank customer but the scamer bought some really nice stuff here so we cant refund it."
