Times have been tough in this Ohio town ever since the woke mob closed the old Cheesecake Factory. So when Vivek Ramaswamy promised to legalize child rape, they finally had something to cheer about again. But then Obama said something elitist.
π¨#BREAKING: A One-Mile and a half Evacuation has been Ordered Following explosion and a Chemical Leak, Sending Toxic Smoke Into the Air
π#Newport | #Oregon
β¨At this time a one and a half mile evacuation has been ordered in Newport, Oregon following a hazardous chemical leak at a sea food facility after a Ammonia tank exploded sending clouds of toxic smoke at this time no one has been injured but for residents outside the immediate evacuation area. Residents in surrounding communities are urged to follow emergency instructions and avoid exposure to the smoke as the situation continues to develop.
Even if the Democrats win the election, the United States wonβt be entirely out of the woods. It will have to face another problem: the blatant stupidity of a segment of the population.
I wanna give a shout-out to @atrupar and @Acyn for all the hard work they do on here and other websites. CNN just did a story on them. They deserve a lot more credit than they get. π
Good morning. The air is cooler. My dog is a good boy.
Yesterday, we were reminded of sanity and decency. Did it feel good? It sure did for me. Obama, a true leader, showed it to us, big time. And then Ossoff, likely to be a future leader, spoke to it, articulately. It was refreshing. Because we're so sick of the opposite.
Sociologists will speak to what wannabe authoritarian governments do - induce outrage through the chaotic control of events, in an effort to induce apathy and eventually, futility. If you look at the early voting numbers, America appears to be resisting this in a big way.
Psychologists will speak to behavioral disorders - narcissism, sociopathy, paranoia - which, when normalized and amplified, can infect and addict susceptible segments of our electorate collectively, because they're told to feel rather than think, to believe rather than know, and to fear rather than embrace. And again, if you look at the early voting numbers, and the Cook Report shifts, and the prediction markets, more of America appears to be resisting dopamine addiction now than in 2024.
To take it outside sociology and psychology into good old-fashioned humanity, it's the return of sanity and decency. Information without lies and hyperbole. Communication without politicization. The return of empathy. And compassion. Wannabe authoritarian governments hate empathy and compassion. Disordered individuals with Custer B conditions can't even feel empathy and compassion.
You want to hear something odd? I am strangely grateful that Trump has so badly overreached and is so clearly unable to pivot. And I am so grateful that Republicans put their cravenness out there for all to see, choosing power for the sake of power in everyone's face, and then calling that "winning." Look at how unappealing and goofy they are. Listen to their cartoonish talking points. Feel their desperation.
Their downfall and Trump's come-uppance is going to be extra glorious, because so much of it is self-inflicted.
And that's going to allow us to better un-addict people to insanity and indecency. And maybe they'll stop choosing authoritarianism over democracy. And maybe they'll stop listening to the lies of narcissists and sociopaths.
Focus and perspective.
Sanity and decency.
THIS is what's on the ballot.
Have a nice day!
The recent Starlink / Starshield incident in Ukraine has created a dangerous precedence for the US export industry, many haven't yet grasped. The sudden deactivation respectively curtailing of those systems without warning not only cost precious lives, but also equipment worth millions.
Though the blame game between the White House (Trump) and SpaceX (Musk) is going on, ultimately it doesn't matter. It showed the world that the USA are not a reliable partner any more. Pointing at some obscure "violation of terms of services" without providing the exact passage are just increasing that notion that this was a political move.
The explanation that Starlink must not be used for "offensive" means is nonsense, too. Starlink has never been turned on over Russia, and using it in Ukraine is by definition defensive in nature. You can even argue that hitting Russian targets in Russia is defensive, since you don't have to wait for an attack to be conducted. Even the intention is enough to warrant action and to eliminate the threat at the source. But this is a different topic.
Furthermore, SpaceX has been fully aware that its Starlink terminals are being used by Ukrainian forces. Especially when considering that Ukraine only recently had to white-list their Starlink terminals for the Ukrainian military so that Russian forces, who have been abundantly using Starlink as well, were locked out. It has always been clear that those Starlink terminals are used for and by the Ukrainian military, and Ukraine has always been thankful for that.
Coming up with this bogus story, now, three weeks before midterms is therefore as transparent as it is shameless. It is obvious for everyone that this was just figleaf statement so that a political agenda can be pushed, an agenda which runs counter to the strategic nationalist interests of the USA, both political and economic.
And this is the real scandal. It is not new that the US had to lock out its technology or supplies to nations with which it had previously good and even cordial relation. Iran under the Shah, South-Vietnam and Cuba before Castro are just three to name it. But as you can see from them, it made perfectly sense back then. Those nations switched sides or disappeared altogether.
Ukraine on the other hand didn't switch sides and even helped the US in the most recent and botched Iran war, despite being short on ammunition itself. The Ukrainian government accepted every possible compromise and offered an unconditional ceasefire from the start. Russia on the hand refused all of it and is demanding surrender. Yet, it gets this treatment? Unbelievable.
This will be noted by all clients around the globe who purchase US weapons and technology. If agreements are not honored and can unilaterally and even clandestinely be altered based on the whims of a few, who only follow their own motives or election lies, then the all concept reliability falls apart.
Whether it is Starlink, the F-35, Tomahawk missiles or HIMARS. All those systems run on software and in many cases can only properly operate with recent updates. You don't even need have a kill switch. You can only refuse to update and many of those systems lose more than 90% of their effectiveness within a short period, making worthless.
This is why we see the blame game between Musk and Trump. I'm sure that people around those guys told them how absolutely shortsighted and stupid this step was. It will fall back on the entire US industry. Not even those two guys are worth that losses and backlash. A functional US Congress would immediately start subpoenas and hearings, asking questions in order to mitigate the damage, but here we are.
Trump and Musk have given the best reason why not to buy American. Customers - governmental and private alike - around the globe will take note of this and act accordingly, and I wouldn't be surprised if this won't be limited to US military products only. An absolutely senseless and avoidable own goal.
I have hesitated about making this comparison between the American and English/French populace because of the toxic reaction from MAGATS it might trigger. But, I can't avoid describing a bitter truth that will last long after Trump leaves the stage. 1/3rd of Americans
$EOSE this is the resilience window for west side PNW where we expect a M9 Cascadia Subduction Zone earthquake. Power grid will take 30 to 90 days to return to service. Joint Base Lewis McCord and other Puget Sound bases need this.
FORTRESS: The Pentagon is preparing every major U.S. military base to survive 90 days without outside support β no civilian power grid, no global supply chains, no outside fuel or water.
The initiative, revealed in documents reviewed by Fox News Digital, envisions portable nuclear reactors, massive battery storage, and microgrids that can disconnect installations from civilian electricity entirely. Strategic reserves of munitions, fuel, critical minerals, and medical supplies would be stockpiled based on wartime consumption rates. Civilian factories are being pre-identified to shift to defense production during a crisis.
Pentagon chief spokesperson Sean Parnell put it bluntly: "Power is combat now. Without electricity, you lose communications, water, logistics, assembly lines and just basic military command structures."
