You asked, I listened. Updated the kite app with really cool new features!
Thanks for all the great feedback and ideas so far. I appreciate all the support.
I’ve been busy adding new updates and making adjustments, while trying to keep the experience simple and straightforward. Without losing the playfulness too.
Features added:
- Push notifications
- Favorite locations
- Wind directions to avoid
- Kite score details
- Additional forecast data
Here’s a video of the updates. This is version 1.2.4 in beta.
If you want an invite to the beta. Let me know!
If it’s not adding value, it’s adding noise.
Just finished the first iteration of the new Flight Score page and honestly, it’s busy.
If you want to join the beta, comment ‘KITE’!
Investors think prompts will replace design tools, but they’re missing one thing: designers are visual thinkers.
Prompts can’t replace spatial design and artboards. Just like early PCs needed a GUI, AI needs a canvas. Whoever solves this wins. Anthropic seems to get it.
Building in Public: Turning a real-world obsession into a vertical UI. 🪁
My last two posts about Figma and real-life design metaphors sparked some incredible and interesting discussions. Today, I am jumping back into what I am building.
I recently added the "Flight Trend" list view for my kite app. Exposing more data in a comparative view, I believe, is helpful when evaluating additional details such as wearing sunscreen or checking air quality.
When you're out in the field, you aren't looking at data the way you do at a desk. You’re holding kite handles, checking the sky, and trying to digest wind, gusts, and weather.
Comment 'KITE' if you'd like to beta test it.
Claude Tools UI just changed the game.
This menu bar animation feels less like a feature… and more like a living interface.
Design is getting dangerously close to magic.
Why are UI toggles horizontal when real switches are vertical?
Without color (a11y), LTR isn't always obvious. Icons add noise.
Why did horizontal win? Reading planes, vertical stack limits, or just mobile legacy?

Real-time refraction shader with chromatic dispersion. Drag the cursor, it reacts.
Five years ago this was a senior graphics engineer's job. Now: @GoogleAIStudio + @threejs and an afternoon.
