I disappeared for 3 months from X.
On the one side I'm glad I did and on the other I'm not.
Here's what happened and why (Yes, this means I'm back):
3 months ago I was working full time with clients, while studying and trying to incorporate new things into my offer.
I was happy where I was, but felt that my skill set was low
Waay too low.
So I gave myself 3 choices:
a) Reduce study time.
b) Reduce skill learning time.
c) Take a break of X for a couple of months to get better, faster at the above.
I took C, even though, looking back, I should've just kept going with everything at once.
So what did I actually do in this time?
I got into coding - UI/UX design and Web design.
And I'm not going to lie, I've had a blast.
So what's in it for the future?
Catch up with everyone - share what I've learned so far and keep growing.
I feels good to be back :)
Service fulfillment 101:
Go above and beyond to make things work for your client.
The gesture is what makes the difference that client staying with you and him changing agencies.
Remember that they shouldn’t only like your service, but also you as a person.
It’s cool if you can acquire clients.
But you aren’t cool if you churn every 2 months because you can’t deliver on your promises.
Take your time.
Work your ass off to deliver to that 1 client.
Go above and beyond to make it happen.
ONLY then start reaching for the next one.
Get good, build trust - get payed.
Always design Websites with a development first mentality.
It'll force you to take a simpler approach and keep the website clean - fast and simple to use.
Your job is to convert prospects into clients, not create the next Picasso.
