In Spain, it is legal to record police officers. You do not need their consent. However, as soon as the police arrived, one of them moved my camera and said I couldn’t record.

I know my rights, so I moved it back.

Then he turned it off, so I turned it back on.

This happened a few times, so I’ve lost some video footage, but what they don’t know is my audio continued to record the entire time.

I will post the whole video, and the uninterrupted audio later tonight.

Again, it is legal to record police, but you cannot publish their faces, with exceptions. I would argue this qualifies as an exception, but I’ll be a good hombre, a good Cartelito Chris, and I’ll figure out how to blur their faces.

After sitting in the police station for 2 hours, and after my lawyers arrived courtesy of @hazteoir, they released me with a fine.

That’s what I was told, at least. However, this ticket has no fine on it. Their excuse is that I had a tripod. I set it up by a pole, out of everyone’s way. I had only been there for a few minutes. I had 50 yards of open space on either side of me, AND I OFFERED TO JUST HOLD IT IN MY HANDS. Problem solved. Or should have been.

Once again, police have violated my rights just to get rid of me.

I’m told a pro-Palestine rally went on in the same public square while I was being held at the police station.

Obama's deal ended in 2031 with Iran having a huge stockpile of 3.67% enriched uranium which they were allowed to make under the JCPOA.

In 2031 nothing prevented them from enriching to 90% weapons grade uranium. After that they could enrich to Plutonium 239.

Graham Platner has bravely declared that Elon Musk should be the last trillionaire.

What a bold, courageous position. Really sticking his neck out there by announcing that the guy who actually builds things that didn’t exist before should probably be the final one allowed to succeed at that level. Very principled. Very fresh thinking.

Meanwhile, the same Platner who wants to put a cap on other people’s success has been happily collecting checks from George Soros, Pat Stryker, Jon Stryker, and Jennifer Pritzker. That’s some impressive anti-billionaire work right there ... railing against wealth while making sure the right billionaires keep the lights on. Almost like the outrage is selective. Almost like it’s not really about billionaires at all.

This is the Platner economic model in all its glory: watch someone else take massive risks, build factories, launch rockets, deploy global networks, and create entire new industries, then wander in afterward with a clipboard and a speech about how unfair it is that they won.

Tough work, being the guy who shows up after the hard part is done to demand a cut and call it morality.

Musk bets billions and sometimes loses. Platner bets nothing and still collects. One of them moves the world forward. The other one just makes sure nobody gets too far ahead without his permission.

If this is the new standard, then the only acceptable future is one where nobody builds anything impressive enough to piss off the professional complainers.

Sounds like a real growth strategy.

Update: "Blu" Daly, aka Cullan Zeke Daly, the trans gunman arrested for allegedly shooting at a Border Patrol agent at the New Hampshire-Canadian border, has been granted a medical furlough by a federal judge.

Daly is accused of attempted murder and one count of assaulting a federal officer with a dangerous or deadly weapon.
